I know when I have posted about this subject before that a few ladies have mentioned their OH is thinking about it. Well just wanted to say that Paul went for his referal yesterday and was told that there will be no more government funding for this after 1st April so it's a good job he went this month. I don't know if this is across the board or just in our area but thought I would post to let you know incase you've made the decision but have been putting it off.

Hmmm we've made the decision that Simon will have one but we want to wait til Dexter's here first.

We have looed into it and know that to go private it's 'only' I think £300 so if it comes to it we will just have to pay for it ourselves. xx

Ah £300 isn't bad then hun and a small price to pay for peace of mind Wink

It's defo not a decision to rush into just because it would be free but tbh for us money is so tight at the mo that if we had to pay and go private it would have to wait until next year at the earliest.

No, £300 to never feel like this again is a blinking bargain!! Laughing

For people that have already made the decision and just havent gotten round to going to the docs etc. then it's definately worth them going before the 1st April.

£300 isn't much but some poor buggers it's a lot of money so are the nhs just going to leave them on conventional contraceptive (that often fails & regularly fails for the uneducated) I think there are cuts to be made but I'm not sure this should be one of them!

Yes just leave them all to continually get pregnant whilst I go to work to ensure enough taxes are paid to feed, clothe these unplanned babies!

Ps nothing against people in benefits (well I am against a few of them) just seems the government are asking for trouble charging folks for the snip!

I agree Pen - I have done a post in debates about NHS spending as it suprised me they would cut funding to Vasectomys. It would cost the government a hell of a lot more if OH didn't have it and I needed 20-30 years worth of contraceptives and/or morning after pills/terminations not to mention the immense cost of ante/post natal care if I did get pg again (god forbid Shocked). It just seems a bit of an odd one as it will more than likely cost them more in the long run.

I also agree with your other points and think in some cases enforced sterilisation wouldnt be a bad thing - but that's a whole different argument Laughing
