I'm not sure. We have found a massage class and a yogalates class to go to, and i think there is a rhyme-times sort of nearby but that seems all - I found a couple of birth-toddler church groups but I'm really not that keen to go to a church group at all....so how do you find groups? Maybe there just aren't any

I have a few groups near me and I should go because it will be good for my lo and break my days up a bit but I worry about joining a group on my own! Just after I had my son the health visitor gave me some leaflets which contained a website where you could find certain baby groups in your area but I can't for the life of me think what it was called :/

I found out about those groups in my local community centre,maybe you could try that if you have one near?

check your local mums net and sure start centres.

check the church ones too there is a chance they wont be linked to the actual worship or anything religious.

I have just helped to set up a group in our local church hall, it is with other members of our church but its nothing to do with religion, its just a service that our local area needs and we have a cheap location to provide it.

Try asking your HV or go to the local library and ask there. My HV issued me with a list of all the groups for under 5s when Wil was about 3 weeks old. The library here also run storytime and rhymetime for LOs once a week and Wil goes to those with his childminder because they are free.

netmums will have a list of all your local groups, surestart is the best round mine, i go to bouncin babes every week , ive done the baby massage course and i start baby sign in a few weeks and they are all free.

oooh netmums seems to have some stuff thanks! we don't seem to do surestart in scotland which is a shame as it seems to be a really good resource. Nothing much locally (shame I don't drive) but some that I could probably get to anyway

I used netmums too. Why are you not keen on the church groups?, I go to one at my local church and tbh..its not religious in any way. Its just like any other baby group, they do massage, crafts etc..Even my local Sally Bash have a toddler gym. Don't let the fact that its in a church put you off

it does put me off a bit to be honest! maybe i need to stop being so discriminatory

your local paper should have adverts and maybe your local super market

We got a new h.v and it's a man! He stayed for an hour and a half and was actually quite useful, if a little pressurey about sorting Elijah's sleep out (sssssiiiiggghh)

It's only a couple of weeks til that other class starts - I remember it seeming like a good idea, now the thought of exercising with other people sounds fairly horrible
