| i dont usually belive in it as in the world is gonna end, iv always believe the weather goes in cycles, people saying about 'global warming' is just a natural cycle(maybe we speed the cycles up a bit )but all this at once is a bit freaky x |

| I know all weird, but earthquakes dont have much todo with weather though does it?? its to do with plates?? didnnt realy listen in geography! lol but OH uncle is in OZ, they really not hvaing luck at the moment. he said this morn (on FB) they've been told to be prepared for it to come to them now! like he says hes just got his house back to normal after the floods and storms for before. makes me realise how lucky we are!! But I do think its us going through another 'stage' as well, don think anything to do with global warming or anything. still not convinced on the end of the world stuff either... time will tell I guess xx |

| plates dont melt.
Earth quakes are caused for different reason.
a tectonic earthquakes will occur anywhere within the earth where there is enough pressure/energy that is then released and pushed up and towards a fault line.
there are 500,000 earth quakes a year but only around 100,000 are felt in the year.
you also have fault earth quakes in which there are 3 types (the way they move) so you have the normal the strike slip and thrust.
there are more but dont want to bore you lol.
It's either pressure released from the earths crust which cause it or the and the movement of the fault and plates.
i may be remembering some of this a bit mish mash but thats the jist of it |

| This might help a bit better
Transform boundaries (Conservative) occur where plates slide or, perhaps more accurately, grind past each other along transform faults. The relative motion of the two plates is either sinistral (left side toward the observer) or dextral (right side toward the observer). The San Andreas Fault in California is an example of a transform boundary exhibiting dextral motion. Divergent boundaries (Constructive) occur where two plates slide apart from each other. Mid-ocean ridges (e.g., Mid-Atlantic Ridge) and active zones of rifting (such as Africa's Great Rift Valley) are both examples of divergent boundaries. Convergent boundaries (Destructive) (or active margins) occur where two plates slide towards each other commonly forming either a subduction zone (if one plate moves underneath the other) or a continental collision (if the two plates contain continental crust). Deep marine trenches are typically associated with subduction zones. The subducting slab contains many hydrous minerals, which release their water on heating; this water then causes the mantle to melt, producing volcanism. Examples of this are the Andes mountain range in South America and the Japanese island arc. Plate boundary zones occur where the effects of the interactions are unclear and the broad belt boundaries are not well defined. |

| depends on the plate type.
one gets pushed under the other, one goes side by side and the other moves away from each other.
i'm not totally sure what happens to it as it moves under but it also depends how far down moves |

| ok yeah that the one i meant, one slipping under the other...ok so its not speeded up due to how fast the undernieth bit melts then |

| LOL I was going to say someone has royally pissed her off either that or she has got severe pmt!!! I do think that the weather does go in cycles, does anyone remember the freak snow storm one August quite a few years ago??? We also had the hurricane of '87 back then no one thought the world was going to end... I don't think it is going to end I think that all this weather will reach a peak then go back to normal again. |

| As long as it ends after my wedding and honeymoon I don't mind! I've put too much stress into it already for it not to happen. I don't want to have spent my last few months of life stressing about something I never get to go to! and I'm so looking forward to my honeymoon I was wondering what I would do with myself after the wedding so I guess this is it - worry about the world ending! TBH I am scared of dying but only for the fact that I would be leaving my babies and OH behind but the world ending means we will all go together - lets just hope its quick xx |
