Thanks everyone for thinking of us, we are all fine here (well me and Milo are, can't get hold of OH but as he's only working 10 mins down the road I very much doubt he's affected ) It's hit the east coast really badly, we're further to the west so no impact here that I know of. Just feel very very lucky not to have been affected, and my heart goes out to all those who have been affected. The scenes on TV are terrible, and the death toll is up to 74 already. It's just feels unbelievable.

We have a mild tsunami warning but the peak time would have been a couple of hours ago and all still seems fine (not that I can see outside!) I just hope everyone over there can stay safe, there's huge power and water cuts, landslides, and damage to a nuclear power plant up in the northeast.

Craziest thing I've read today - today's earthquake was 8.9 magnitude - and that's only the 7th strongest in Japanese history Holy cow.

Glad your okay. I am sure we will all feel a lot better when you are back home.

Zee, thanks hun, he's just texted me as I was reading this (you must have magical powers!) saying he's on his way home.

They keep showing the same 30 second clip of the tsunami washing the cars off the road over and over, I'm sitting here with a cushion over my face as i can't bear to watch . And there's some scary footage of a road in a busy town centre just splitting apart and rocking back and forth when the earthquake hit, with people walking right beside it. There's loads of people stranded as the buses and trains aren't running, it's all so scary.

Think I'm going to go to bed and give me little man huge cuddles all night.
