are these ok to give to elijah - he is in love with bread just now and normally he has it dry but can i give him hummous (sesame seeds?) and is tuna mayo ok so long as the eggs are pasturised, or should i keep it to boring old plain tuna?

I feel a bit bad, I didnt even worry when i gave Caitlin hummous! I was a freak when weaning her due to her milk allergy and me having a nut allergy, and yet this is something I gave her from about 10months and thought nothing of! She loved it on toast. I avoided mayo until very recently but thats because we were told to avoid egg in all forms until she was 1. She eats it in cakes, mayo, pastry etc but hasnt had scrambled egg etc yet. Im just a bit

i suppose that's wise with caitlins milk allergy - i dont have any allergies in either side of elijahs family. he had a wee bit of hummous on toast and looked like i had given him a poo sandwich, we will try again in a day or two though

Niamh has milk and soya allergy too, so I have always given her hommous, there's not much else you can give them to dunk their veg and bread sticks in, she loves it and has never had a problem with it. I think the general rule is to introduce new food along side stuff you know they can eat and leave it a few days, if there is no problems then you know they're fine, and as for mayo I'm sure it's absoluetly fine if they can eat egg, its pasturised so should be fine, but always always use full fat, they put mingin stuff in low fat to texturise it saw it on tv, it looked like wall paper paste!
