My little lady has a cold and is so unsettled . I have been using nasal spray and sucking the snot out if her nose to help with the congestion but I don't know what else to do. When she does fall asleep it will only be for abot 10mins and then she is sniffing and then coughing which wakes her up.

What else can I do help her?

We use karvol plug in which is brillanty bt ive just looked it says frm 3months also baby vapo rub bt thats also frm 3months xx

Hmmm, its a hard one because of her age.

Lily had a cold at 2 months and I gave her Calpol before bed, which helped her no end.

Aimee had calpol from birth (im guessing your niece did too), so it is allowed for babies, but I know on the bottle it says 2 months - the hospital told us that this is because they dont want us parents to mask the problem if something else is going on, which as long as its just a cold, im sure there isnt.

What about the Snufflebabe? (its like the vicks vapour rub)
And keeping them slightly elevated ie; folded towel under moses basket mattress or small pillow under cot mattress.

Its not nice is it My little mans got a cough/cold and even 2years older, you just feel so helpless

Oh, I wasn't sure how old they had to be.

What about a tiny bit of olbus oil on a tissue tied to the bottom of her cot? I think that says 3mth, but we did it for our LO as it didn't actually come into contact with him personally.

Or if you have an oil burner..you could pop some in there (with some water) and let it linger round the room before she sleeps etc

we have an empty baby food jar on the radiator in our bedroom just now with some water in and a dollop of vicks - it isn't strong but it's enough to help elijahs immensely snotty nose!

Oooh also, I forgot, I also put infant olbas oil on her sleeping bag - just a couple of drops, but it really helped x

oooh and prop her cot/basket up at one end so she isn't flat if you see what i mean - it's sloped but not enough for her to slither anywhere!
