When my nan died my mum gave me her platinum eternity ring, it was old and dirty but came up as new once cleaned.

Went swimming today and foolishly forgot to take it off, its gone bompletely black! I have no cleaner at the mo so sat it in alchohol for a few hours and its still the same.

Any ideas?

Thanks, just trying the soap with hot water. Will try toothpaste if no luck!

I think it was because its really old. I have platinum wedding ring and that was fine.

May not even be platinum, my mum said it was but who knows!
