Just looked on their website and they have a meal planner for 5 days for £20. Tells you what to buy and gives you the recipes as well. I am deff going to try it as I spend far too much on shopping. Anyone else tried them?

Is it bad that that's too expensive for me Embarassed We spend £100 a month full stop so £20 for 5 meals is wayyyy too much!

That'd be great if you could! I always think to myself - Oh I've done well this week. And then they run it through the till and it's £80 fecking quid!!! Having said that though I bought a chocolate mouse cake for £5 and I've just noticed it's out of date and I haven't had 1 piece so I'm just greedy!

hmm our weekly budget is £50 for all three of us, including baby food, nappies, wipes etc so in reality £20 for just our teas is probably a bit pricey - having said that we are really bad for getting extras in the week so a ready made planner would be nice!

oh, all of the meals are to feed 4, so surely you could just half the shopping list (with a bit of careful checking Laughing) and get 5 meals for around a tenner?

We recently got a book called "Family Meals for under a fiver" - the recipes all feed 4 or 6 so we do half of everything and have saved a fortune on our shopping bill and have started to eat more healthily and more varied diet too so we're very pleased.

Also we go to the market in town now for our food shop (rather than the supermarket) and that's another great way to save money because if you want 250g chicken then you ask for 250g chicken and pay for that instead of buying 300g cos that's what's in the packet. The fruit, veg and meat is all tastier and lasts a lot longer because it's fresh, and because we plan what we are going to buy, we don't end up with a cupboard full of chocolate and biscuits cos they were on offer - we just go straight tot the stalls we need.

And you know what else - we have more time at weekends as a family because we get up earlier on Saturdays to get it out of the way instead of mooching round in our dressing gowns for half of the morning. It takes about half an hour instead of the hour we would spend dawdling round Asda waiting for dithering idiots to choose which tin of beans they are going to have and get out of my way!

For us thats too much. We spend about £60 a month big food shop and then get milk and a bit of fruit each week so i'd say £80-£100 a month total. It's probably a lot nicer food than i have though Laughing

the foods not too bad, i figure if you can half some of it (to make meals for 2 or 2 +1/2) then bulk buy things like pasta/rice which we already have in the house it would probably only be about £45 a month or so Very Happy

is there a section on banda where ppl could maybe post their meal plan for week and cost of shopping ?
i sometimes do a meal plan then when feeling a bit flush it goes out window until need to do it again cash flow wise

would really be useful for giving ppl ideas i think as i dont know about you guys but i find we eat the same things pretty much weekly Smile
