Libby has had cradle cap since she was a few weeks old, we've tried dentinox but it hasnt worked, we thought we would see if she grows out of it but she hasnt and has now started scratching at it and making it sore.

Does anyone have an easy solution that's guaranteed??

xx

I used Olive Oil, let it soak in a bit and then brushed it with a soft bristled baby brush, got rid of most of it in one go!

Funnily eough suse, i de cradle capped Alice and edith the other day.

olive oil soaked in for a while and then a soft bristled brush (i cold only find adams spare toothbrush, is that wrong?)

cleared most of it easily, will have to do it again but too much all in one go, have to say the fact that she saw me doing e meant she let me cos it was 'alices' turn Smile

Haha Jo!!!

I'm gonna give the olive oil a go tonight and I've found her baby brush so Simon's toothbrush is safe Laughing

She's been scratching again in the night and it's now looking really sore so if it doesnt work I think I'll take her to the docs and see if I can get some lotion or something.

Thanks again ladies xxx

Sounds odd, but I used nappy rash cream on both of the girls and it went immediately.

I read it somewhere online.

I used Bepanthen (sp) x

Well I sat Libby down and smothered the top of her head with olive oil, spent a good 15/20 mins brushing her scalp gently, could actually see the bits/flakes coming off!!!!

Gave her a bath to wash it all out and as I was brushing her hair afterwards I was inspecting her head and it's all gone cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers

So thank you very much ladies!!! She's still got the sore spots where she'd been scratching so fingers crossed she'll leave her head alone now and that'll be it Very Happy xxx

I think with olive oil as well you could probably do it once a month or so to keep it away or more often if her head is still sore

I know greeks and cypriots use it like a moisturiser Smile

Use it as moisturiser?? Shocked Bleugh the smell of it made me feel a bit ill Cradle cap solution **UPDATED** 548646

It is a bit of a faff with her having such long hair and when she woke up this morning her hair was so oily still even after shampooing it last night so she had to have another bath this morning (not that she minded Laughing ). But it's looking absolutely great and I dont think she touched it last night so hopefully the sores will heal and it will stay clear, if not at least I know what to do now.

I'm annoyed with myself for not asking and doing it sooner though Rolling Eyes

xxx

I used baby oil because I can't stand the smell of olive oil, it worked just as well, and she smelled like a baby rather than a jacket spud about to go in the oven lol x

Urgh it keeps coming and going here, is it more of a girl thing maybe, hormonal or something? And is it just lather on the olive oil, leave then wash off?? I think I made it worse yesterday by putting a tiny bit on, rubbing in and leaving it to soak in Crying or Very sad

At docs tomorrow anyway, but I suspect I just need to maintain the olive oil + dentinox treatment a bit more frequently - but it honestly seems to go between dry scalp then dried weepy clear yellow stuff. Poor tot's skin has never been right Sad
