I've had a potty in the room for a few months now and every night Alfie gets nappy free time.

He sits on the potty quite alot and is really pleased with himself. When he starts doing a wee he says "uh oh" so he know's that he's doing something.

I point to where he's weed and then tell him you do that in the potty. He has done one on the potty but that was a fluke because he was sat on it for the whole of In The Night Garden lol!

Anyway today i went to the toilet and he tried sitting on my knee, i said no Alfie mummy's having a wee and he ran into the room, got his potty, brought it into the bathroom and sat on it.

Now i'm stuck, how do i encourage it without pushing it as he's still young and not really ready for full on potty training?

I would just encourage the nappy free /Potty promoting time. Its good that he's got the connection of wee's/potty's etc. When he does do a wee on the potty (even by fluke) just go really over board with the praise. I used to do this really high pitched 'GOOD BOY!!!!!' 'wee wee's on the potty!!! - wee wee's on the potty!!!' :D:D <<<
When ever your at home let him go commando and when he starts running to the potty to wee, you know the time is right

Thanks Zee, i was at my parents when it happened so he had 3 people doing the really over board praising and he went all shy, it was too cute

I'm gonna do as you said and just let him have nappy free time everynight and leave the potty around. Would have done it earlier but he's had diarreah and didn't fancy cleaning that up off the floor haha
