Sooo, for the last few nights I've been having tightening/ strong period type pains quite low down, that have just started spreading to my lower back in the last couple of days, but they're not really regular and i don't get so many in the daytime. Get lots of braxton hicks in the daytime, but again nothing really regular. So, how long was it from feeling that kind of irregular pain, until you properly went into labour? I know it's probably a pointless question as everybody's different but I'm bored and curious

Ermm 5days I think. I went to hospital on the 2nd July to be induced because of BP then when i got there they told me I was already in slow labour, I just thought it was BH and general uncomfortableness so they didn't induce me. They'd said I'd have her by the weekend I went into proper labour at 11pm Monday night, and she was born just before 10pm Tuesday night.

i felt like that in my back for about a week before my sweep (37 weeks) and was 1-2cm, i had elijah 4 days later after being induced but was already 3cm by then so things might be happening - you may find once you are in labour things move very fast?!

i think that was what i had from about 35 weeks, sorry hun, lucas is the most contented baby i've ever met, he just likes lying, so i'm presuiming thats why he was so late lol

Eek, Shell and Mari that sounds quick! Can't imagine this little one shifting that quickly though, think he's a lazy bum like his mum! Clare that's reassuring, although i can't wait to meet him it just won't sink in that he's about to arrive.. Having lots of strange pains and tightenings today, and about to go for a very long walk but i'm prepared to be waiting a very long time!
