When did you first get a potty for your LO? Jamie's not even slightly ready for potty training yet (not exactly a surprise) but I wondered when people introduced the potty to begin with. Also, did you just have it there for them to get used to or did you put them on it occasionally to see if they'd wee?

We bought one when Ellie was 18 months. We showed it to her and left it in the bathroom and I sat her on it before her bath each night. I didn't get a single wee in it til she was 2 and 4 months. . I don't think it does any harm having a potty around the house but I don't think it speeds the process up in anyway.

Ellie was really difficult to train compared to me other two but in most ways she far more advanced so I was surprised. I'm now convinced that it's nothing to do with how bright they are etc it's to do with when their body and brain come together and they're ready.

Im also convinced that Ellie would like to wear nappies forever as shes such a lazy moo :-) xxx

Thanks ladies. Have bought Pirate Pete's potty book and will get a potty so I can start getting him used to the idea

ye im gonna do same..jamie is 2 and 4 months nowand he still doesnt seem ready for it! hes not talking much so its hard to know what he wants etc so think i would have a tricky time trying to do it now..im not gonna rush it and just hopefuly over the next couple months his speech will come along and we will be able to communicate better..aslong as hes potty trained by the 3ish il be happy! x x

I got a potty at Christmas and Noah uses it. The last week i have been putting him on the toilet and he doesnt seem to mind he just holds himself up and does a wee. So i have just brought him a step up and a toilet seat so will be properly trying after the wedding. Apparently i went straight to the toilet when i was a toddler didnt use the potty.

GOOD luck i would start introducing it now

Weve had a potty in the livibng room for abour 4 months now. Alfie occasionally sits on it but prefers to put it on his head! x
