Letter from housing association _
PostSubject: Letter from housing association   Letter from housing association EmptySat Oct 23, 2010 12:59 am

Well after viewing that place back in June, we didn't get it as we were in 3rd place.

We bid every week on a place. and just had a letter through today to say we are in first place for a 2 bed place.!!!

I'm super happy, i've looked at the area on google maps, tried to find any form of a floor plan for it but nothing so far. It's only a block of 9 flats everything else around it is houses.

OH is umming and arring as we'd have to pay 4 weeks rent from signing, but we've also got to pay a months rent on this place for our notice so that like £1,200.

anyways i really hope its in some form of decent order as this is a step forward to us saving to buy a house which is the only reason we put our names down.

Sounds promising then, is there no way you could go to view it?

Its so hard when you have to pay rents up front then rents on the property your already in Rolling Eyes Would you be able to use the bond on the current place?

i have a ha house, when we moved in it was a state, walls covered in vile dirty wallpaper that was hanging off in places, so we did like your suggesting magnolia everywhere other than lillys room and had the same carpet throughout, we only had to pay one weeks rent up front though, i know diff ha's have different ways but yours maybe 1 weeks aswell??
hope you like it and get it sorted! xxxx

Thats great Kelly. We had to pay rent on our old flat and here but its worth it to have the cheaper housing association property and the security it brings (knowing it's yours till you want out). Hope it's not a state. We were really lucky with ours as it was a new build. xx

a child must have their own bedroom after age of 1, i'd call them maybe they got her dob wrong.

although around here they tend to give young moms big houses because they tend to have lots of babies, but couples with one baby have the flats, it drives me mad so unfair

Aww congrats! Very Happy Hope its nice, and like people have said its worth scrimping for the rent/taking a loan from family to get a bit of security & help you on the way to where you want to be (buying, fingers crossed).

Happidee - im down for a 2bed too. I though over one's could have their own room. Suppose each area different.

We dont have a bidding system. We just get points and the people at the top get housed 1st. People keep coming in ahead of us so we stuck at number 25 for months Rolling Eyes Think we will be private renting for years....
