Who was it that had named the grannies Granny Hoover etc???

Well Ive been saying it since then with our Grannies! Granny Chicken and Granny Ponies lol and now she knows the difference!

Although she is more bothered about seeing my dad than anyone...never stops asking to go and see Taid

Anyway thanks for idea! Muchos confusion avoided!

I used this technique with my eldest.. my mum is nanna-poppy(my dad) and his dads (my ex hubby) mum was nanny Bess and Grandad (Bess was their dog!!) Anyhow said Doggy went to Doggy Heaven many years ago, but nanny Bess still holds the name.. He's 11

we used to have grandma in wales (ermm wonder why and granny on a scooter (actually no idea why) the one on the scooter is still with us and is still on a scooter

My nephews, now 13 & 16 have grandma number 6 (grandparents live at number 6) and grandma pinny (after a dog that died in 2004)

We have nanny (my mum) and grandma (OH's mum) so no confusion.

Wil has decided to add a bit to grandma though ever since she visited and we dropped her off at the station to go home. She is now grandma choo choo.

my friend had Granny Bus and Granny Boat cos one took the bus to visit and the other lived on an island so had to take the boat

My nannies were big nannie, little nannie (and Lewis knew her as Big nannie is my nannie and nanna is his nannie ) and yes one was fat and one was skinny sadly neither are with us now

Ooo we are so boring in comparison! Lily has 3 sets of grandparents and we just call them by their names to differentiate, i feel that we have deprived her now by not being more adventurous with our choice of names x

my grandma(mums mum) to lilly is ganny (i used to call my grandma this!)

my grandma (dads mum) is grandma boon

unfortunately my grandad (dads dad) passed away when i was 13 and i dont know my other grandad (mums dad) nor does my mum, he lives somewhere near us but that a whole other story!!!

my mom is called Nanna, but my neices call her nanna flowers, becuse thats all they do is take flowers to the grave (sad she would have loved to be nanna too)

my nans were both grandma, for rich, but if you say grandma to him, he always thinks of my moms mom who died a couple of years ago.

for russ's mother we call her nan, hes not allowed to call her nanna, get her a card with nanna on, thats reserved soley for my mom, and russ agrees with this, its the one thing i've been consistent on.

my dad is grandad, but then he only has one grandad, we call russ's dad grandad S... when we go to the graveyard or talking about him

We havent seperated them yet.

They are all just Nanny and Grandad (MIL/FIL and my mum and stepdad) and Nanna and Grandad (my dad and step mum).

I guess we need to start seperating them, although I dont think she cares which ones she sees when we say we are going to see Nanny/Nanna and Grandad as she gets spoilt at all of them.

my older two children had big nanny (my nan who was quite chubby) and my mum was little nanny (as she's quite short) xx
