Why is he waking _
PostSubject: Why is he waking   Why is he waking EmptyFri Apr 22, 2011 1:17 am

I am having a nightmare with callum at night since saturday he will wake frm 12am up untill 4am sometimes for that hole 4hours soemtimes less but whatever i do i cant get him to stay in his cot he just screams so i end up cuddling him in my bed but he still isnt sleeping he just winges and rolls about until he eventually falls asleep and i put him back down normally at 4 and he wil be up at 6.30.

He goes for a 2hr nap at 12 ive tried taking it out it actually makes the situation worse.
Hes into his last week with his cast on (broken leg) my mum thinks the longer he has it on the worse it gets uncomfy and itchy even tho i havent had a problem with it at night before.
He been going to bed with just pjs on and ive tired taking them off if he seems warm or puttin blanket over him if hes cold.
I just dont know what to do i cant think what it can be hes fine in cot during the day he goes off fine in his cot at night aswell but it gets to 12am and thats it the screaming starts x (ive also tried leaving him to it but he coughs gets so worked up and then is sick so that makes him worse) xx

Any ideas what it could be

He could actually be cold rather than warm.

Itchy cast possibly

teeth?

I would do your best to avoid putting him in your bed because it will probably prolong it if he thinks waking up and fussing will get him into your bed.

Maybe it's the cast that he's finding uncomfy. At least it will be off soon and you can see if it makes a difference. A his age he prob still needs that nap, H still has 2hrs sleep during day. Also could be teeth, you try some calpol see if that helps x

Could it be the warm weather making the cast uncomfy?

Maybe some calpol will help him sleep through for a couple of nights to get him back used to it ready for when the cast comes off x

Aww, I hope he's back to his usual self soon. It could be the cast thats causing the wakenings. Maybe cramps or general discomfort. Good idea with the radio though, thats what we did with Moo when we stopped the dummies. Bless him, how's he doing with the pot on? Bet you (and he) can't wait till its off?

Well hes doing better ive not been putting the radio n light on till livingroom stuffs gone off cos we live in a flat and his room u can hear the tv abit n the light refelcts on the wall he wont sleep with the door closed we noticed he was waking soon as it all went off. Last 2days ive had no problems x I think he has hayfever or eye infection as thats been gogey and sticky so that wouldnt of helped.

The cast comes off tomorrow cheers cant wait i actually think hes gonna miss it lol x I have to say hes done so well we barely had any trouble with him other then when were out he wants to get down and play and cant and gets upset if he hears bath water running cos he cudnt go in which is understandable xx
