think oliver has another chest infection this will be about the 6th in the past 6 months the gp listend to his chest when he was well (after the last one last month,) and his chest was clear...why does he keep getting them???? (im taking him back to gp in the morning) x

He may just be prone to them. I had whooping cough as a child and after that I was prone to chest infections for years.

Get him out in the fresh air lots and moving about to allow as much air as possible into his lungs. Being too warm or stuffy makes chest infections feel worse too.

Does he have them following a cold or are they just random?

Does he attend nursery? also does he suffer with asthma? If he does it could be the reason he keeps getting recurring chest infections.

I honestly don't know what to suggest other than to up his vitC intake as thats supposed to aid respiratory infections

could be an allergy that is aggravating his chest? asthma of some kind? maybe he is just going to be prone to it, i was very prone to throat infections and my brother seemed to have endless ear infections - maybe its something he will grow out of?

gill i cant remember with the rest, but this time he has been snuffly for a few days!
no zee he doesnt go to nursery! your probibly right he may just be prone to them, if im going to catch anything its always in the throat, so that may just be his weak point

thinking back, when he had his third one he ended up on the day ward and it turned out to be bronchiolitis, i got an info sheet and it did say on there that kids who get this are slightley more likeley to suffer with asthma...so im guessing maybe more likely to get chest infections?? hhhmmm something to google!! i just hate pumping him with antib's all the time !!

the gp listend to his chest a few week's back when he was well, and it was clear so i dont think he has asthma...but she did say the last infection, that he was very infected so came on awfully quickley(if you get me lol)!! x

my doctor said that babies will always be prone to one particular thing be it there chest, there ears there throat etc. they all seem to have a weak point.
