Lots of bumped heads! _
PostSubject: Lots of bumped heads!   Lots of bumped heads! EmptyThu Sep 09, 2010 8:21 am

Matthew has recently learnt to pull himself up on things, however he struggles to move anywhere when he is up, he also has not figured out how to get back down again without falling. This has resulted in lots and lots of tears, so much so he's now crying before he hits the floor as he knows it's going to hurt!

How long is it usually before they learn how to get back down again? or is there anything i can do to help him to learn to land on his bum or go back onto his knees?

I feel so sorry for him when he does it as he's so upset, but the minute hes back on the floor again he's pulling himself up again!

it didnt take long for Cerys, maybe 2-3 weeks. she just used to slump down onto her bum lol !! there's not alot you can do. Obviously try and cover corners, fireplace grate (we've got a marble one). by falling down probably makes them more determined to figure out a way to avoid it happening x

Ooooh this has brought back memories of my other two when they first found their feet. For me this was by far the most stressful period. My dd once fell down and caught her eye brow bone (I know that's not what it's really called) anyway she ended up with stiches and still has a scar!

Ellies not walking yet, but she will be soon and I dread her taking a tumble and hurting herself! Sad

but like the others have said, it soon passes! Smile

Awww, he will learn soon how to avoid the bumps.

Aimee had bruses on her head and cheeks for about 4 months when she was his age. I ended up taking photos of them and sending them to my OH on his phone at work so that I didnt get told off when he got home! Lots of bumped heads! Icon_biggrin
