| I have spent the last 7 years trying to get a diagnosis for Aron with his problems, he has "autistic traits" but doesn't actually have a diagnosis of autism or anything from the autistic spectrum disorders yet!!
What traits/behaviours does Callum have?

| hun my son is diagnosed with autistic traits and he was 3 when i got diagnosis but i started the ball rolling by talking to the hv.
whats he like with routines, thats the biggest one for us, if he out his routine we have issues, or did, hes much better now than he was.
i'd talk to hv and if he goes to nursery see what they say about him developmentally and socially,
there are varying degrees too, rich's effects his senses and his communication in taht he babbles alot and doesnt listen.
but it could just be his personality, but i think your doing right thing by asking
good luck and if you need any advice let me know xxx |

| Whilst i totally agree you should definately get him checked to ocver all bases try not to drive yourself too nuts just yet. I fnd a lot of the autistic traits described can also be applied to totaly normal toddlers. For example C went through and still does have phases of lack of social play and preferring to play alone and selective deafness, she is fascinated by buttons and wheels, shes a poor eater and prone to tantrums. However, in her case i know shes nothig like autistic just an ornery toddler. I hope it all works out ok for you xx |

| i agree with mario, try not to get too worried yet, oliver also ticks a lot of the boxes you have said...especially tantrums and obsessed with spinning wheels an buttons!! you are doing everything right in asking questions and investigating more, but dont let it drive you insane befor you have spoke to a professional xxxx |

| Update........................ I had a long conversation with a hv yesterday explained what is going on and what i think. She was really surportive even tho she said i was wrong to jump to Autism its such a big thing and when children do wierd sorts of stuff parents put it down to serous things but whta mother wouldnt. We have a pedertraitian app on tuesday which she told me too tell them about my concerns and it will go from then bt she thinks they will pick up on stuff if its there. The things i told her the list she said shes heard of it all before in normal toddlers apart frm the hand flapping she was bit more concerned about but as it could be a hearing problem she thinks it could be a way of him telling us hes happy/excited so will see the hearing test is monday. |
