| Well I woke up at around 3.45am to go to the loo and when I went to move something felt strange down there, so got to the bathroom took one look and was like OMG my waters have gone. Sat down on the loo and there was another gush and I noticed that there was green in it. Woke Matt up and then got him to pass me the phone to ring Delivery Suite, had to go straight in as obviously she had done a poo in me. Pottered around the house getting my last things together in my bag whilst Matt had a quick shower and started contracting regularly, got to the hospital at around 5.00am and was 3cm and fully effaced on first examination. They put me on the CTG monitor as they had to monitor her all the way through the labour because of the meconium and I just sat perched on the end of a chair and leaning over the bed, contractions were coming thick and fast by this point and was having two together after a while, so asked about pain releif. The MW really wanted me to try the Gas and Air but I didn't want to as I didn't want it to make me feel light headed, so asked for paracetamol, which she told me wouldn't do anything. Not long after that I was sick and then ended up having to have the paracetamol anyway as I had a slightly high temperature. Asked for an epidural which they came to administer at 8.30am, they put it in, but it wouldn't work properly, so could still feel contractions etc. and they came back at 9.30 to try and sort it out, but it still wouldn't work properly. So they begged me to try the Gas and Air on top of the epidural so I did and my goodness why didn't I try it sooner, I just wanted to go to sleep haha! They examined me again at around 10.15am and by this point I was 8-9cms dilated and they could see her hair hehe! Started pushing at around 11.15am and at 12.26pm out she popped with the biggest cry ever. Weighing in at a very healthy 8lbs 8oz. Total duration of my labour was 7 hours and 52 minutes. I suffered a 2nd degree tear, so had to have some stitches, so im still a bit uncomfortable down there and she has a tinge of jaundice, but they aren't too concerned about it. She's feeding every 3 and a half hours now and is guzzling like a little trooper. Couldn't be more over the moon to finally have my little girlie, she was soooooo worth the wait...she's absolutely adorable and so good bless her. | Aww, I'm glad she's finally here, and a nice quick labour I did try the G&A when I arrived at delivery and it 'did' make me sick and light headed lol, so went without - when it came to the stitches I tried it again and realised how good it was Good luck to you all for the future hun, enjoy every minute cos it passes in the blink of an eye |
