| when does this normally start to happen? just wondering because elijah doesn't seem to always need his morning nap, and then sleeps for an hour or two after lunch... depending on how the night has been and what hes been up to he will either sleep an hour in the morning just before lunch then an hour - 2 hours later on around 2.30...if he doesnt have a morning nap he seems ok though til just after lunch and will sleep for up to 2 hours... do you think he is starting to cut his naps down? or is it a bit early??? if he doesn't have at least one good nap he is shattered by 5 and its a nightmare getting him showered and to bed because he turns into a maniac |

| Oliver was the exact same age as Elijah when he started to cut his naps down, just after his 1st b/day we noticed. He used to have a very similar nap pattern with and hour about 10am and approx 2hrs on and aft. But then found he wasn't wanting his morning one but then be falling asleep right in the middle of dinner So we just brought dinner forward a bit and he'd go for nap straight after..then over the weeks moved dinner time back gradually till he was eating at 12 and nap by 1pm. He'd then have a good 2-3hrs nap I must admit I did like the big block nap on an aft |

| I can't really remember when Thomas cut his morning nap tbh seems like an age ago now but I think he had it longer than the whirlwind child (aka Hannah). Hannah cut out her morning nap about a month ago (part of her master plan to tip mummy over the egde of sanity I think ) but it's good in a way because she will have longer in the afternoons now. However just to add insult to injury Hannah starts to sleep longer in the afternoons just as Thomas starts to cut out his afternoon nap so gone is my 'me' time but I do get more Thomas time which is fab xx |

| Haha, I must admit I was gutted about the loss of the morning rest, but its amazing how quickly you adjust especially when there's 2-3hrs undisturbed peace with your name on lol

| Because of his age, I would recommend you pop him in awake (do you do that on a night?) It may take a while but you may have to do the gradual retreat method. Radio on low is a good distraction too. |

| Erm... let me think..
Imogen used to sleep from 11-12.30/1ish then 3-4,30/5. Once we moved here so she was 1yr 8months she started just playing in her cot for the second nap so i stopped taking her up and then she started sleeping a bit longer for the earlier nap. So about 11-2.
I think Imogen is fairly weird though as everyone i speak to said their child was cutting naps at 1yr ish and then not napping at all or just for 30mins at Immi's age now. Immi just loves her sleep |

| i love my sleep, my nap routine used to be awesome (about 18 months ago haha)
nah, he doesn't like to sleep, still up 8+ times a night - slight improvement that i don't always have to feed him back to sleep, and he has recently started settling himself sometimes when he wakes up...baby steps!
i still bf, hubby can get him to sleep but its 15 minutes of screaming until he gives in. generally speaking i bf him then put him down/bf then sit with him and watch tv...not ideal but it is working for us just now and means i am getting a lot more sleep than i was!!! |

| Alfie has also recently within the past month cut out his morning nap (altho he only ever used to have 30 mins). He now gets up around 6.30/7ish (grrr i hate early mornings) and will go down for a nap around 12.30 - 2.30/3ish. I love the big block in the afternoon if im tired and want a nap myself or got some cleaning to do but it can be really frustrating when i wanna do summat. he wont sleep anywhere else except his cot now. I put him down awake and within 10 mins hes fast asleep (if that) and normally i have to wake him up as i dont really like him sleeping after 3pm!! x |

| I think Sophia was jsut over a year when she dropped the morning nap. She sleeps anything between an hour and 2.5 hours from about 12ish each day now. Just depends on whta she has been doing that day, and how well she slpet the night before.
Finding v awkward on saurdays though as she has a lesson at 12.30 so only gets about half an hour if she is lucky all day that day which makes sundays great fun! NOT! lol, never mind though, not too bad most of the time else.
