| Hi Im taking Ellie to Turkey in July and not sure what to do about milk. I took her aboard a few times last year but I took SMA with me and also bought some there. But since being 1 she has cows milk. From experience I know its difficult to get pasturised cows milk abroad. We're all inclusive so I guess my choices are just give her the milk that they have int he restaurant I guess it'll be UHT. Or start to give her SMA again???? Really dont want to start the formula again as its a pain and cost a fortune! I think id be happier giving her whatever milk they have in the hotel - but just worried that there may a reason why I shouldnt. Does anyone know? |

| Is it worth talking to your travel agent and seeing if they can find out the options from your hotel. Surely you can't be the only one thats needed to know about milk. We took forumla for Immi last year but she was just turning one so we just delayed giving her cows milk till we came home. I wouldn't want to take formula now. Altho you can buy those cartons of growing up milk, but again it's still forumla really and you don't wanna waste money and baggage allowance taking a load of that. |

| did you find out from the travel agent? I would have thought the milk in the hotel would be safe to use tbh I wouldn't bother taking formula. It can't be that different to Cyprus and the milk is pasteurised here... (is it on the north side?) |

I'm going to Turkey
But in North Cyprus its a real struggle to get fresh milk and we just use UHT for our tea and coffeee.
No idea what they have in Turkey but I'm thinking thatI'm just going to give her whatever is in the hotel. |

| Vicki I'm surprised UHT went down OK because I think it's revolting, even in drinks (we call it "yuckt")
I hadn't thought about this but it's a good point if you're getting through a lot of milk like we do then you need to be able to access it when you want it, which might not fit in with set mealtimes etc.
Why is going away with children so complicated??? |

| Formula fed babies (like ellie) adapt to uht as it taste similar to formula. I'm just hoping ellie adapts back to uht after having fresh milk since she was one!! I'm losing sleep worrying about ellie and her bockies! |
