My two still have their milk in bottles morning and night but they have been ill this week so I stopped the milk for a couple of days and gave water/squash instead out of their normal cups/sport bottle. They weren't too impressed at first but when I explained it could make them sick again they were fine. Now they are better I thought it would be a great opportunity to stop the baby bottles and give them their milk from cups instead. They haven't been overly bothered about their bottles going but neither of them will drink milk from anything other than a bottle. Hannah takes a sip and puts it down and Thomas says 'yuck' and wont drink it Milk 548646

They LOVED their bottles with milk but its as if it actually tastes different not in a bottle scratch they just put it down and ask for water.

Ideally I would like them to have the milk as they are fussy eaters at the best of times so like to know they get calcium etc from it but I'd rather not bring the bottles back. I feel a bit bad for Hannah as she is only 16 months and would like her to have her bottle a bit longer but I can't give one without the other Milk 548646

So what would you do? bring back the bottles to make sure they get their milk OR stick with no bottles and accept they want juice/water instead?

I've tried offering nesquik/milkshake too but they don't like it

xx

It's difficult because I can understand that you're pleased to have stopped the bottles and to go back would be a backward step.

I would try a few more different cups, or those glasses with a curly straw but if they still wouldn't have their milk I'd be tempted to let them have a bottle at night.

I have no issues at all with bottles and will leave Ellie with a bottle until she doesn't want it.

Hey my totally cool 14 year son had his morning cup of tea in a baby cup until he was 9!!!!!! He used to lie down with it like a baby and he got so much comfort from it! It was our secret. Eventually he told me to throw it out but he's never had a cup of tea since Smile

ive tried everything to get milk into callum other a bottle and he just wont he cant suck out of a straw so we cant even use those sort of cups.
But i think milks so important for callum i let him have it in the bottle at the end of the day he drinks it so quick so he hardly sucknig frm it and its not as if hes walking around with a bottle xx
