After a wonderful 13 months off work, this is my final week off.

I'm so down about leaving Ellie, I look at her and I think, poor child has no idea that next week Im going to abandon her. We've had such a lovely time getting to know each other, playing, shopping, feeding the ducks and just been together all the time.

I really wish I could afford to stay at home! It really bugs me when I go shopping and see girls with their babies/children who dont have to work, they'll never have to leave their babies, its so unfair!

Im off to sit in the garden now and have a cry where no one can see me!

Ellie will be fine! She'll miss you of course but she will be amazing!

I know it's different circumstances but I felt bad leaving Charlie last week, he was with family so I knew he'd be ok but I felt awful!
When I actually got into the swing of things I didn't have enough time to be worried and feel bad I just got on with it.

When I went to pick him up I got the most amazing cuddles he was so excited to see me, it was lovely!

I hope you feel better soon Hun! Pack as much in as you can this week with her!!

I keep meaning to ask are you back full time?

Oh no thats awful I really feel for you - the thought of going back to work and leaving Elijah makes me feel physically sick, and that isn't til next March sorry we don't have a magic wand!

Hi Hun, I work three days it is really isn't too bad once you get back into it at work and the weeks just fly by so before you know it, it will be your days off again. Is Ellie going to Nursery?? If so, I'm sure she will love it. Bethany loves it at hers. Good luck xx

You not abandoning her hun. You are working so she has a better life and the nice things in life. You should be proud of yourself.

I am sure she will be just fine and wiill benefit from becoming more social xxxx

Ah Pen, sorry you are sad. I have to say waiting to go back is worse than actually being back! (If that makes sense?) Ellie is going to love being with your family, and you will enjoy having some of your independence back. It will make the rest of the time you spend with Ellie all the more special too.

I remember when I was going back, I didnt really want to.

I will admit that it did take me a couple of months to feel like I belonged back there, but soon settled back in.

Its also so amazing when you pick them up and their little faces are just so happy to see you!

i feel for you, im not back until January and i cry about it now, i just try to think that i'm going to give her a better quality of life plus i think its good for us in the long term, i might stop being such a baby bore!

Aww hun, I'm sure she (and you) will be fine. I am a SAHM and feel very fortunate to be able to do so, My OH works but we struggle loads and I do feel that my LO still misses out on so much. I'm often weighing up the pro's and cons of going back to work.

Thinking on a positive note - Ellie will make loads of new friends and learn loads of new skills, i'm sure she'll have a ball

honestly tho, i worked myself up into a much worse state than it actually was and the days flew by, the worst thing was getting Alice settled as we both went back to work at the same time (hobby got made redundant) so she went from having both of us all day everyday to none of us, but she is fine now and loves nursery millions!

Maybe I'd feel better if I could explain to ellie why I'm leaving her, it just upsets me that in 1 weeks time I'm going get her up as usual and then leave her all day.

I am quite lucky as my parents will be looking after her.

It is probably one of the hardest things to do after having a baby...going back to work. The overwhelming feelings of guilt and separation anxiety you feel. It get's easier, as she will make it easier. It helps that she is in the care of her grandparents who love her more than life itself. xxx

I'm sure she will be spoilt rotten hun with her grandparents!! hopefully the time will fly and you will be home soon.

I hated returning to work and hated ringing home and hearing them in the background when I wanted to look after them!!! Anyway, if anything it made me really appeciate them when I got home.
