yaaay so elijah has learned 2 new signs in the past week 'no' and 'more'

i am so excited that he can finally start communicating with us a bit - although he has only done 'no' in response to me saying it, at least he knows what it means!

so far we have 'no', 'more', 'dog', 'cat', 'pig', 'finished', 'drink' and 'where is it?' and we nearly have 'hide'

yaaaaay i know most of you don't do signing with your little ones but i would definitely do this again (he has also learned to say 'sockkkkssssssss' this week verbally hoorah haha)

awww wow well done eli i wish i'd done stuff like that with benji...some days i wish i knew what went on his head what a clever boy (and loving sooooocccccksss!)

Wow thats really cool. I sometimes think Ellie tries to sign when she's watching Something Special.

aww they recommend you start at about 9 months so you still could lou! and the soccckkkkksssssssss is so lispy he also says something which sounds a lot like ssshhhhhiiiitttttttt like gollum or something but we can't figure out what it's meant to be

I really want to do this with Jamie (although am going back to work when his 8 months so goodness knows when we'll get the time). How did you go about it? Is there a good book or something or did you just make up your own signs?

you can also get the book/dvd although we have the dvd and i don't like it as much as the classes, its worth having a look though cos they do weekend classes here you can also just make up your own signs

i would really recommend the classes too , we did it until ava was 13 months , then had to leave the course but I still do signs with her and it really helps us to communicate.

we get an "awwwww d" when she's All Done!

amazing pixel!!! we really only have mama, dada, cattttttttttttttttt, socckkksssssssssss and even they are sporadic and unpredictable i will try and have a nice chat with her next week hahaha

we have mama and dada but she doesn't always use them at the right time but we sometimes get "ta" but sometimes it comes out "da" "aww d" is the only proper thing she says, does that count as talking?

yeah, i bet we can manage a conversation involving all of those part-words
