Tyler will be going into a single bed at some point before this baby arrives as we will need his cot, Im going to get a bed guard to stop him falling out as he still likes to move around and I don't want him falling onto the tiled floor.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

We never used one - Thomas was a wriggler and my mum bought the lindam one for him at her house but he thought it was a game and tried climbing up it and over it which i thought was more dangerous than actually falling out of bed bed guard 548646 we just put a doubled over double duvet and a couple of throws on the floor in front of his bed for a while whilst he got used to being in it. I think he only actually fell out a couple of times and then realised.

Does tyler have a cotbed or will he go into a proper single? Cotbeds are pretty low down anyway so not far to fall onto a padded floor. If he's going into a single which is a bit higher could you use his cot mattress on the floor next to his bed for a while just incase? with a thick blanket rolled into a tube placed under a fitted sheet at the edge of his bed to make it difficult to just roll out? (iykwim?)

Sorry not much help hun - we only used the guard once and found it a pain in the bum Rolling Eyes

xx

Sorry not much help

no that's useful advice Debs I don't want to get one if it's going to be a hazard!

He'll go straight into a single bed but it is quite low down I was more worried about him getting used to having his cot bars there to protect him and then having nothing mind I suppose Id still have that problem when I took the bed guard off anyway wouldn't I!

MAybe i'll just give it a go and see what happens! I've got some spare duvets I can put on the floor - actually have a spare single matress I can put down (bet he'll end up sleeping on that on the floor haha)

We had the Summer one - i think thats the name of the make. It was great for a month or two then she learnt to climb over it and like Debs said I think it was more dangerous that falling out of bed. I caught her messing around climbing over it in her room and nearly had a heart attack, the girl is crazy she was standing on top of it and driving off! We've now taken it away. She's fallen out the bed once but just onto her bum and after a surprised yelp she got back in fine.

I was going to get a bed guard as noah is a complete wriggle bum, i am looking to put him in a cotbed about 18 months.

There is one that you can clip down i think its a lindam one. I dont know really i will buy one incase it does work. I think i will only use it for a month anyway for him to get use to it.
