| Our new house is really really lovely but, whichever numpty laid the carpets didn't use underlay It's no problem downstairs as the carpet's quite thick, (and all the carpets are nice and good condition..) but when Milo's running about upstairs it bangs and echoes so much. It sounds like he's throwing bricks around, even though he's just walking from room to room So we're looking for a cheapish way to muffle the sound. We have rugs down, and carpet cutoffs under the rugs, but that's not wall to wall so there are still noisy bits. What would you do (on a budget! ) |

| are your carpets really well attached? cos underlay is actually probably your best bet and will help keep the upstairs warm in winter so if it's possible i would try and fit it under the carpet - other than that probably what you are doing with rugs is all you can do. we got a couple of really large and surprisingly good quality rugs from ikea at reasonable prices http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/Textiles/10653 |
