We just had our second 2 hour power cut so far today.. first one was between 11 and 1 and was ok - I was at work so went to my mums had some lunch (shop bought) and then went home at 1 and did some bits before getting Tyler... second one was 3.45 till 5.45 Tyler was in his bed sleeping and luckily managed to sleep his full nap without getting TOO hot, and to cool down we've had to try and force him to stay in the pool.

There's so many rumours going around like we will have electricity for 2 hours then off for 2 then on for 2 etc. everytime it goes off I get so angry and scared! what if its still happening when I have a newborn baby :/ how can they expect us to live like this?

Can understand why you're furious, that's terrible!!
Are they happening for a reason, or is there any official place that would give you more information about them? I would be going mad!

When Milo was a few months old our landlord decided to re-lay the concrete outside our apartment, we couldn't have the windows open or hang out washing outside for 3 weeks because of the dust they caused, then the final week they just cut off the gas and water at random, usually as i was just about to make Milo a bottle or give him a bath I just lost it one day and screamed at the poor workers until they put the water back on

ahhh yeh Kat it's because some idiot left some (a lot) of munitions outside in a metal container.. which exploded and damged the power station that supplies most of cyprus' electricity haha so I suppose it's at least for a good cause!

They just announced some times for scheduled cuts and then 2 hours later said they werne't sticking to that because there's some other issues with the other power stations. They promised it wouldn't happen over night (after but my friends just told me hers was off between 9 and 10 last night!

I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for Tyler but it's not as if he's that flexible with when he needs to eat or sleep :/

I bet its driving you up the wall.

How on earth are you supposed to cope without electricity in that heat with a young child?!

Have they given any indication how long its going to be like this?

it's horrible people don't understand how bad it is because it's not on any news or anything. It's the not knowing when it's gunna happen that's the bad thing at the moment, or how long it's going to be off.
