i really want to scream !
friday morning my hallway was minging magolia covered in in kids fingerprint walls and my very light beech flooring was starting to bubble from a rAdiator leak
by friday night my nice new oak coloured flooring was down and the old stuff was in the garden :)we got up yesterday to start putting up my nice new paper and technically it should have been finished by evening but its not
OH gets stressed papering ( loads of plugs and light switches in hallway , lots of silly corners as well )and keeps stopping and saying why didint i just get fuking paint ! , simple i wanted a nice paper and i want to be able to sit back and like how my house looks!
at half 5 last night decided we best nip out and get lottery and decided to venture up main street ( rather than shop 3 min walk away )as i really fancied a bottle of wine
got out my street turned right and all of a sudden my car sounded like a suberu impreza with a mahoosive exhaust ! lol its a renault scenic !
got out had a look under realised my exhaust was not scraping the floor so we decided it had a hole in it and carried on up town, was a loud journey but have heard worse from boy racers ! on way back from shop there was alot of clattering upon starting car and it carried on until you got to 20 mph so figured then my car was really sick !
got home and went straight to neighbours as her car is still in garage and she has been using mine to get to work so she had to arrange something else ( not easy for early on a sunday morning )
Phoned my dad , he is great with cars , whilst on the phone Mike had the car jacked up and the exhaust fell off in his hands !just the back box ! so having dad on phone trying to explain to him how far back the rust went to see how easy a job it was to fix was a nightmare
turns out if it was only the back box that needed replaced then easy but if the catalytic ?( sp ) convertor was affected then it was going to be about 250/300 to fix and my dad who has always taken on the cost of fixing the car ( his rules as he bought it )said that it would be scrapped as that would be more than what he originally paid for the car
at this point all i was thinking was shit we need to go into town shopping on monday and we are going away at end of month for D birthday ! He would probably get us another car but not sure if it would have been by end of month ( he has a citreon sitting in his garage but not sure if he would give us that as he thinks its to big an engine for me lol )
So ,,,,,, we were to call the garage in the morning to see whats what but we called our friend who came to have a look and he told us that it IS just the back box so my baby is fixable at a cost of about £50 !!!
I am going to waken Mike very soon so we can get the papering finished and await a text to maybe go and get car fixed today if he has part in stock , failing that will be monday
Will hopefully manage to upload some piccies of my nice new paper tonight when its all done
!
