I have every sympathy with her family, and her to an extent. No one would chose to be such a mess/embarassment, ruin career, her looks, die young etc.

BUT its a bit of a hot topic. Addicts are selfish nasty people at times. Many women walk away from men that behave like her and are praised for it. Men dont get the sympathy as much, especially if they have children or a wife and have been making their lives hell.

I duno. God rest her soul, Im torn between saying its her own fault but then feeling sorry for her that no one could help. Suppose at the end of the day who are we to know what are kids will get involved in? Her dad genuinely seemed concerned about her health... but what more could he do?

I truly believe it can be an illness, and sufferers deserve support BUT I dont find it as easy to say that about alcoholic males who beat their wives when drunk/spend the kids money.

Its a tough one....

Do they know whether it was OD or suicide?

It's obviously sad and she was a talented person but there's only so much help someone can be offered before it gets beyond a joke and I think she is a prime example of someone who didn't seem to want to be helped... she just did rehab yet turned up to her comeback tour drunk and unable to perform?

Depression and anxiety will literally take complete control of your sanity and every choice you make. Its an illness. Some people do hit rock bottom and have just enough self respect left to ask for help. Other people seem to "like" the feeling of being selfish and lost in a world of their own, its a double edged sword. xx

Regardless she was still a daughter or a sibling. I suppose it was to be expetced she was a time bomb but still a tragedy

Its such a shame how fame caused such a talented person to become so troubled.

I know that the news are all about letting people know things first, but in all honesty, it was all over the news within about an hour and a half of her being found. Surely her family and friends were not all notified in that time.

It would be an awful way to find out by watching the news!

Such a tragic end to such a talented lady.

I said that on A FB status earlier. It was on the news less than 90min after she died, and her dad was on a plane to NY, they didnt even know whether he had been informed. Terri assures me they would have phoned the plane, but I suppose there's aunts, cousins, friends etc to consider too.

It is really sad what has happened and a waste of such a great talent but I really wasn't surprised if I'm honest. On the news they were saying what a terrible tragedy it is but I'm inclined not to agree with this, a terrible tragedy is what has happened in Norway.

Alot of ppl on FB are mentioning Norway as a comparison... but then others are pointing out that they can both be tragedies and there doesnt need to be a 'competition' as such x

^^^^ exactly !!! Any sudden loss of life is sad. The two situations dont compare. The people/person that has lost their life were loved and cherished by someone and its those left behind that suffer a tragedy xx

My sisters father was a heroin addict, after growing up with a smackhead I have little sympathy or tolerance for people who take drugs. My heart goes out to her family though, such a waste.
