I'm getting quite desperate for this little boy to come out but at the same time i'm actually dreading it a bit. I know that sounds awful but I just don't feel prepared. I have hospital bag, nappies, clothes but i feel like I'm missing something and just generally don't feel like I'm prepared in myself to look after a newborn. I don't know how i'm going to cope with constant feeding/changing and no sleep.

I'm also starting to feel guilty about Imogen as well. I don't feel like I'm a particularly good Mum. I know i'm good enough but a lot over the last 9months I've put cbeebies on for her or sat her down with crayons and just layed down on the sofa.. not the best mothering! I feel like she hasn't had the interaction from me she needs and now it's only going to get worse with a newborn around. I feel a bit selfish for having another baby when I should be giving all my attention to the one I have.

I guess this is all normal nerves (please someone tell me it's normal!) but it's starting to really worry me.

Aww hun I was feeling exactly like you were (and still do some days, haha) Even if you haven't got everything you need, there are shops and you can pick anything up soon enough! Or preferably get someone else to pick it up for you As for being mentally prepared - I think the adrenaline gets you through the first few weeks. Noah hasn't ever slept more than 3 or 4 hours at a time and I actually feel ok, baby snuggles seem to make it all bearable!

I was worried about Milo too, but he loves Noah so much, he's happy just gazing at him and poking his cheeks! So don't feel selfish, Imogen is going to love having a little brother so much, and that's going to last all her life - whereas you being pregnant and understandably not able to do much was only for such a short time. Luckily for us, Milo's birthday was not long after Noah was born, so he's got loads of new toys to play with when I'm changing/feeding Noah, that seems to have helped. Maybe you could encourage people to get her a little gift as well as the new baby, so she has lots to do too? And keeping it simple for the first few weeks really helped - like not forcing myself to take them both out for a walk on my own etc..

I found it so difficult to imagine having 2 when i was pregnant, it'll sink in little by little and it's amazing now having 2 little men around - although I spend most of my day trying to make sure Milo doesn't crash his trucks into Noah's head/squash Noah with a huge hug etc.. and in some ways it's easier than when I was pregnant as i can pass Noah over to his dad and spend some one on one time with Milo without worrying about my bump/being exhausted and not able to move.

Yes it's normal. I love having two. Rowan does not get all my attention now but i always make sure he comes before house work.
