Libby has been telling us for a while that she needed a poo or wee but for some reason was really reluctant to use the toilet (even bought her a princess toilet seat thing that she chose) or potty. We left it thinking she'll do it when shes ready like everyone says but its been months now.



So last night we decided that we would hide her nappies and tell her we'd got rid of them and that she was to wear knickers and wee & poo in the potty.



So we explained this to her this morning (even used a certain little girl by the name of Caelyn as an example ), she was reluctant/upset at first but then I created a reward chart in front of her and told her she would get a sticker every time she used the potty and for every 10 stickers she would get a present. She was very excited about this and after half an hour of wearing knickers she needed a wee and used the potty



She has used it 3 times today so far, while typing this she has had just 1 accident - Simon had taken her out in the garden to play so she must of got caught up in playing and wee'd, bless her.



I'm so pleased though, was beginning to think she would be in nappies forever

LMAO @ roping Caelyn in as persuasion. Good on you for getting started and sounds like shes doing fab. Bribery is brill for potty training as far as im concerned, we did it and she got it in no time. Just think what you are gonna use as pressies though cos if shes owt like c it will cost you a bleeding fortune, we end up using freddos, 17p a pop lmao

Lise,Libby is forever mentioning Caelyn so thought we'd use her as an example PMSL we did think that although Simon has promised her a McDonalds so we'll do that for the first 10 and then stick to little pressies from then on



Well the accident she had was technically only half a one as she started to wee then realised she was in knickers so stopped and finished off on the potty She has since then done another one on the potty so we're currently on 4.5 - 0.5 to the potty

Well you've probably seen on my FB that she has done brilliantly!! I cant believe how well its gone considering only last week she was refusing point blank to use the potty or toilet (although funnily enough if we asked her if she was going to she would say 'not yet, next week' )



She's gotten a bit clever about it though, she knows if she drinks alot she'll pee alot so she must of drank about 2 litres of squash and has peed 14 times!! 2 of those times were on the toilet which I'm pleased about because at least she'll use both.



She's gone to bed in a pull up and I've told her if she needs a wee just call for me and I'll help her use the potty (she can do it herself but I worry about her tripping over the potty and pee going everywhere!) so we'll see how she goes.



The only problem is she hasnt pooed yet, hoping she will tomorrow.



I am so proud of her!!!

Just to update those not on FB



Well shes has done/is doing brilliantly!! during the day is absolutely fine, goes on the potty herself - we've had wees and poos no problem with only 1 proper accident while I was in the shower (wee). We even ventured to the shops yesterday with her in just knickers and she was fine



The first night we started (sunday), she wore a pull up and it was soaking wet the next morning, the night after that she wore a pull up, shouted in the night to use the potty and her pull up was bone dry in the morning. Then last night she was adament that she wasnt going to wear a pull up, she'd had a huge cup of nesquik before bed so we thought she would have an accident or shout for the potty, but nothing and she was completely dry this morning!!!!



So so proud of her, cant believe how well she's done - really thought it would be much much harder than this.

Well, since she started on Sunday she has had just the 1 proper accident on Tuesday (a wee while I was in the shower), and has been completely dry for the last 4 nights!!!



I know I keep saying it but I really cannot believe how well shes done, I'm surprised shes taken to it so well during the day but to be dry at night already is just amazing - I am so so proud of her xx

aww well done libby it seems to be true that once they are ready they just take off and get on with it!! i have been watching the potty posts in the hope of learning something for when our time comes
