Lily plays outside by herself now and she is 2 and 5 months. I am either in the kitchen or living room and can see her from the window and go out and check her every few
mins x

Your garden does sound safe. You will relax........eventually x

I let Imogen play out in the garden on her own. I always stay in the kitchen, so I can see her but means I can get on with some things, washing up, laundry, cooking etc (or just a bit of Banda time!) and not worry about her being bored or getting in my way. I think if garden is secure, no one can get in or out and there's nothing dangerous they are going to pick up, it's fine. Just stay near enough that you can keep an eye out and be there quick if anything does happen.

I let Oliver play out in our garden too. its a secure garden with locked gates so I'm rest assured that he's safe. i can see him from the living room or kitchen so i can get on with things and he's happy playing outside.

Yeah same - my two play out in the garden together as soon as a glimmer of sun cracks through - they love being outside. Like the others I'm usually pottering in the kitchen or folding washing so can keep an eye on them. If your garden is secure hun then go for it.

I have only just started doing it with Aimee. Our garden is secure, but I always felt a bit odd doing it before, and we had to fill our pond in first.

I can sit in our dining room on the laptop or see her from the kitchen window and watch her. The only problem is then trying to keep an eye on Lily, who tends to be in the living room as there isnt much to do in the dining room/kitchen for her.

Izzy has this summer, although only out the back and in the yard - I'm paranoid if I let her on the front driveway and lawn she will get kidnapped!

I feel slightly safer when she goes out there because my 2 dogs follow her around like a tail and bark at a cat coming over the fence - so I think they'd tell me if anything was wrong - its hard to see her all the time though as my garden is quite big with big trees and bushes, so can't see her unless she is in the middle of the lawn

My garden is quite secure and I can lock the back gate so I'm happy for both the girls to play out while I potter about in the kitchen etc.....well for about 5 mins before they start running in and out or end up fighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Pep I think we live parallel lives! Rolling Eyes

Well after playing out alone for months and months with no problems I commented on this thread and jinxed it. Was pottering in the kitchen this morning, kids in garden, popped through to the living room for about 30 seconds and hear a huge scream pale ran outside to find Thomas screaming with a huge purple egg on his head Sad He told me he tripped over a toy so would have happened whether I was watching or not but still feel awful Sad poor little man!

Debs I honestly think we do too!!!! I hate it when Abbie picks up the sweeping brush (when OH doesn't move it!!) and attempts to sweep up cos I know someone is gonna get hit on the head, intentionally or not!!!!

Also we had a pink playhouse that barely got used, we took it down with the intention of taking it over to my Mums house to make some room and they spend more time playing with the panels than they ever did when it was built!!!

im like lisa i wont let him in the front im scared someone will jump over the wall and kidnap him lol, but im happy to let him play in the back garden, but im usually ina and out anyway plus leo is usually with him, at the mo i dont have a fence seperating the back and front garden, so although my driveway gates and front gate lock im still paranoid, if i had a fence up id happily let him play whilst i potterd about inside

im glad you posted this actually cos i get so paranoid what the neighbours think when i pop inside for something lol, but dont feel too bad now x

we're always outside, My backyard has a high fence and I'm quite happy to let Ava out there, I can do the dishes and the ironing whilst keeping an eye on her.

Harry loves the garden and the whole back wall in the kitchen is windows so I can see him at anytime whilst I'm washing up etc. I'd never sit in the living room while he played outside though cos hes little monkey and gets up to no good! lol xx
