| How many mummys have got LOs starting school/pre school today? Oliver started tweenies (pre-pre school) in May but after such an eventful 6wks holiday and him being a teeny tiny bit clingy am dreading leaving him this aft It was quite hard when he was 1st settling in but I have a feeling we're going to have to do it all again. So who's got LOs starting nursery/school today? Is it their first day? And for those with older kids who are going back to school is it normal for mummy to be so nervous every new term lol Does it get any easier? |

| Libby starts pre-school tomorrow, I probably sound awful but I'm really excited about her starting. She had a couple of taster days and loved it so so much, I just know she will really enjoy it (and if I'm honest I get to have a few mins of guilt free quality time with Dexter).
In saying that though hun you've had a rough time of it so it's completely understandable you feeling like this, I'm sure once today is over with it will be much easier.

| We've decided not to start Chloe until next year, she doesn't get her free place until April and while I don't have to pay for childcare I'm reluctant to do it, plus she has such an active week, with something on everyday except Mondays I don't feel she's missing out.
I'm sure when she does start I'll be a blubbering mess. Hope it goes well for all your LO's x |

| Tara I'm dreading fulltime school lol so I can imagine how your feeling. Mario, that's a bummer do you get to pick her up? Kelly, Oliver goes 3 afternoons a week and he does love it but it's just that initial leaving and saying good bye He'll move upto proppa pre school in January. 5 days a week He keeps talking about it. But whT he says and what he does are 2 different things. I've got loads of work on myself but dont think I'll be able to concentrate till it's time to pick him up lol |

| I'm like Mandy, Hayden is 3 in May and will start in the school nursery in Sept 2012 mon-fri 8.30-11.30. I don't pay out until I have to Tbh there are very few playgroups around here, so if I wanted him to start now Id have had to put his name down as he was born. I don't think he needs the extra year, he is a very intelligent lil man and has 2 older brothers teaching him colours, numbers, alphabet and pencil control etc.. Owen is my bright spark, he's almost 7 and he has started in Year 2 today but luckily with the fantastic teacher he had for reception class. Owen again didn't start until he was 3 but he has been top of the class right through He was always very confident so going into school wasn't a problem. Lewis was a right royal pain in the ass.. he used to scream every morning for around 3 months.. After 2 weeks of mollycoddling, staying in school for a bit the school and I decided tough love. I used to walk in take his coat off then fold my arms and he had to do the rest. I then left him screaming (for the 5 mins he did it after I'd gone) He loves school so really didn't see the issue. However, my screaming lil bugger goes into secondary school tomorrow. He is whacking it big time!! His father (first time ever) offered to come to us early and take him in the car (3 min drive - div) I had already told dad No! he needs to walk and meet his mates, otherwise he'll throw a wobbly. Dad then asked Lewis, whom surprisingly said No I want to walk in with my mates ( 1-0 Mum) scarily enough the 2 girls we've known since Lewis was around 3 months old are also in his form class and one lives just round the corner so they are all meeting up to walk in. I will blubb as will the girls mums!! So in short, it does get easier but then they stick hurdles like secondary school, exams, new teachers and school trips in! making mothers nervous wrecks.. I'm sure your lil man will be fine, especially if he has friends there already. |

| Well rich starts year 7 today and I've been awake since 5.30, always am first day of the year, don't want him missing his bus, I must admit being home and having him walk in from school is the best part of my day.
I'm nervous every year, wondering what's going to happen, but for me sailing day is my worst day, hate it, I always send him but I'm a wreck all day.
Hope everyone has a good week x |
