| This was 2 years ago http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1204486/Meet-Bebe-Gloton-breast-feeding-doll-comes-nipple-bra.html
But that didnt do the motion , I don't see any problem with that, little girls stick their normal dollies up there if they see mummy doing it - so having a special dolly for it can't be bad
The motion bit though...a bit OTT but harmless I suppose. |

| I dont think there's a prob with it. They were talking about it on telly this morning and loads of ppl were emailing in saying they were disgusted by it.
I dont get the fuss. Its just because as society we see bottle feeding as the social norm/socially acceptable thing to do in public. I think a BF doll is great if children grow up seeing it as an option, not just btls for dolls.
At the end of the day we have dolls that pee. Why is BF so much more taboo? There was a comment on FB that really peed me off -'what next a doll that wanks?' I think some people need to grow up and realise that BF is natural and not something to be hidden.
Parents arent being forced to buy it, if you really against BF dont buy it! Children see their mums BF so its not like its a whole new thing to many children. |

| I agree with Snoops we really have fallen into a society that see's bottle feeding as the norm and hopefully with the amount of mummies that are booby feeding now, that will soon turn around.
I mean at my baby groups there are only 2 or 3 of us that are bottle feeding.
Hmmm not sure what I think of the doll, but as said above if there parents dont want them to have it, then don't buy it xx |

| It does annoy me how breast feeding is seen by so many
In some cases you'd think a person would get less attention if they were picking their nose and eating it in a cafe! |

My baby group was a BF support group. I had to stop BF at 8 weeks due to allergy but continued going to the group. Was a bit weird getting a btl out in front of 25 mums who were very pro BF. I felt the need to justify myself every time but I needn't have worried, they were all so nice and supportive about it. I must admit I never BF in public, apart from the BF group and once in a carpark as I felt uncomfortable doing it. Its not really the norm thing to do in our society. |

| I just don't know what to think about it tbh. I think its too much, in that it seems like another way of pressuring people into it... but I see the reasoning behind it is to make bf more "the norm" which is obviously a good thing and will probably help everyone feel more comfortable about it.
It makes me uneasy though... but perhaps that's because bf is not normal in my family or group of friends I've never seen anyone bf and I find it very embaressing to think about. If I had a doll like this when I was little maybe I'd not feel so embaressed about it! |

| I personally don't really see the problem with it. I wouldn't buy one for verity as, the way I see it, if children want to mimic bf they can do it with a normal doll. My 3yr old niece started to bf her dolls after seeing me feed verity and tbh i think it's perfectly normal. I breastfeed verity whenever she need's it I don't care where I am or who's around me at the time, I rarely cover up too - odd occasion when I will is if we are out at a restaurant or something but more often than not I don't bother...it's one of the most natural things in the world and I for one am very proud to be doing it. If someone has a problem seeing me feed my daughter then they should be the ones who feel embarrassed and ashamed not me! Sorry...rant over |

| that's what Im saying - I feel embaressed by it but is that because Ive not been around it and had I had breastfeeding dolls maybe it would seem more normal to me?
I think it's got the potential to be marketed the wrong way though and for children to pick on other children that don't do it.. you know there's always people that are very pro breastfeeding and almosy snobby about people who bottle feed - well I can see them passing that onto their children and that causing bullying in school.
I do think it's a bit weird that they are making a doll that can be breastfed but I don't know what it is about it that I think is weird so think it must be my own weirdness about the whole thing rather than it genuinely being weird iykwim. |
