Just wanted to get it off my chest really, had a call from nursery on Wed as he had a rash on his arm that had doubled in size in 10 mins, by the time id got him to urgent care half an hour later he had a bright red cheek and a rash on the back of one leg.

After some prodding and poking they concluded it was a viral rash related to the cough he has had for a couple of weeks.

So he's been a bit hot last couple of days but thought all okay until he wakes up tonight crying so I went to his room and put my arms round him to calm him down and he starts coughing and next thing I know there are black drops on my hand. Screamed for hubby and he came up and put light on and blood is pouring from Ben's nose and his mouth is full as well. Tried to stop it but it was actually pulsing out so hubby rang ambulance.

Came really quickly and luckily it stopped as they arrived so they checked him out and decided to take him in to get checked properly so off we went in the ambulance (which Ben thought was brilliant of course!) and after waiting for about an hour or so they eventually say he is okay and they aren't sure what caused it but likely to be the cold and gave us some advice for stopping it if it happened again so he is now back in bed and I feel like I've aged 20 years!

Phew! That feels better - sorry for burdening you ladies!

Gosh Ann - that sounds scary..I know it turned out nothing much but blood gushing at any time is shocking and i think I too would have been really worried!

Glad he is ok and had a fun ride in the bee bor! Hope he is 100% soon!

Thanks Lisa, I can't sleep now though, my head is buzzing! What a week! Forgot to say, add to that I've got the same cough which is giving me banging headaches and Ben's also been constipated so has been screaming and crying when going to the loo!

Think I need a holiday!

Hi all, quick update - turns out we both have chest infections so now we have a house full of amoxycillin! Hoping we both feel better soon.

Downside is nursery have decided that Ben shouldn't go in until he has had 24 hours antibiotics in case he gets any more rashes or nose bleeds or a reaction to antibiotics! Plus side is I get to take a days holiday and play with my baby all day whoo hoo!
