well i have got it booked and after saying that getting m/w appointment here was easy i take it back ! seems lots of preg woman up here at min
booked in for first available appointment which is the 10th october which by my counting would make me 11 weeks exactly ( she is going to call if there is a cancellation as she thinks i need to be booked in now ), they will have to push for a scan i think as after speaking to someone else who is preg it seems they have changed how they do things
previously you were screened for downs at 16 weeks min and the bloods were taken by midwife , now apparently the bloods are done at your first scan and there is an exact window they have to be done in , something like between 11+2 weeks and 13+4 weeks ( dont quote me on that ) but is all completely new . i wish i had booked myself in earlier now

Dont know if different in my area but I had first booking app at approx 8 weeks for bloods as part of a group of other expectant mothers, then second booking app on own with mw to complete details on computer and for wee sample at approx ten weeks.
In our area, they want to do the bloods for downs at 10 weeks and then the scan at between 12 weeks and 13+5.

My scan is on Wednesday, bit scared and also looking forward to it.

Take it you didnt get an earlier app? Here its different again. Booking app is 11-12 weeks and you get your bloods & scan at same time.

We dont get a scan or bloods for downs here. The 12 week scan simply is a dating scan and to confirm number of babys. Bloods are just for iron, blood group and diseases etc.

Hun with Lucas they had booking appt at 11 weeks nearly 12 and then scan at 13 and I could have had test then, but I refused

really dont fancy taking the older 2 so thinking about asking next door of she gonna be home and if they are out playing in our street if she can peep out every so often and if they can come to her if any probs
