Cat advice _
PostSubject: Cat advice   Cat advice EmptyMon Oct 10, 2011 6:13 pm

Since we moved into this house in August 2010, there's been a cat that's visited us most days, just lately it's pretty much moved in, it's either in the garden or meowing to be let in, and in the evening it's usually curled up on my lap oron the sofa, this morning it dived in the house as soon as Matt opened the front door and is now curled up by my feet. He's really friendly and good natured.

What should i do? It doesn't have a collar, I've no idea if it belongs to anyone, I've asked a few neighbours but nobody knows, but if it's going to be a regular fixture here i want to make sure he's been vaccinated, wormed and deflead.

What would you do? Would you just take him to the vets, or keep trying to find it's owner, if it has one?

Tbh I've checked him over and there's no evidence of any, so would just be to prevent them more than anything

Personally I would take it to the vets to get checked over also to see if its microchipped.

If that fails its up to you, do you want a cat? If not perhaps take it to a rescue place.

I'm quite happy to keep him, he's really lovely. Chloe has already named him George (she's peppa pig mad) thanks, that's a good idea seeing if he's microchipped. Will make an appointment x

any chance the previous owners upped and left without their cat ?
a cat will always return to where he is being fed , we got a new neighbour who thought nothing of feeding my cat a bit of fish and now he wont leave her garden
if the cat is not microchipped maybe stick a collar on him with one of thiose name barrels and you can pop a short message and your number on the slip inside and see if anyone else responds ?
