advice after a fall _
PostSubject: advice after a fall   advice after a fall EmptySat Oct 08, 2011 6:32 am

Ava had a nasty fall on Wednesday, tripped over the step and landed on her face, thankfully she was ok apart from a very scabby nose. Then yesterday at playgroup she ran down the slide and into a wall Shocked Ever since she's been really clingy and cries at anything which is very out of character. I might be being neurotic but don't know whether to get her checked over at the out of hours, she's got no visible marks and i've checked all her limbs, what do you think?

if she seems really out of character it might be worth getting her checked - something else to consider though, elijah gets REALLY clumsy when he is getting poorly (before any other symptoms normally), and then really clingy....and then actually poorly, so that may be possible?

I'd be tempted to give her a dose of calpol and see if that makes her feel better - they often can't tell us if they have a headache, tooth ache, bruise somewhere that hurts...whereas we would take a painkiller they just get grumpy and moany

I've done it a couple of times with Izzy when she has seemed grumpy/upset, or has had a fdall and then been whingey for no apparent reason and its done the trick

She may have pulled a little muscle or maybe its just dented her confidence a bit so wants to stay 'safe' and close to her mummy for a few days.

I would probably ride it out for a day or so, and like Lisa said, give her Calpol and see how she is over the weekend x

I think it might be a confidence thing, she's usually a daredevil but today when she was jumping on the couch she was holding her hands out for me which she would never do normally . Thanks for the advice x
