Cerys will be starting nursery/playgroup on Monday. She will be going every mon pm and weds am. It will be the first time I will have left her with strangers and I'm dreading it Sad

I know it will be good for her, meeting other toddlers and becoming a bit more independant but it's going to break my heart the first few times I leave her there Sad

Just wondered how it went for those of you who have gone through this? xx

I was dreading it when Jamie started nursery but actually its fine. I'm at work so don't really have time to think about it and Jamie loves it. He gets down and goes straight off to play. We get the best smiles when we pick him up too.

If you're not working make sure you keep busy and i'm sure she'll love it

When Tyler started it was absolutely awful.... for me mainly!! he cried when I left but I know he stopped pretty quickly and I never picked him up upset so he must've been fine... it's worth the worry fo the big hugs and smiles when you pick them up and after a few times you'll wonder why you haven't done it sooner Wink

To start off with it does feel like you've left a part of you some where. Be pre-pared she may cry, cling to you. generally on the first day you'll go in with her then leave once she's off playing with out you.

I had to stay for up to 40 mins for 3 sessions now i can just drop him off give him a kiss then leave

Isla started 2 mornings a week, about 5 weeks ago!

I was dreading it, but now I wished I'd done it sooner....in fact im thinking of putting Jess in a morning or two to give her a break from Isla (shes going though a mine, mine, mine phase and not a nice big sister)

She moaned for a few days, and still does occasionally.....but I wait around the corner (for my own piece of mind), and within minutes shes off playing.

They know how to pull on your heart strings, but then she is so proud to tell me and show me all that shes done that morning. She wouldnt get that at home with me.

Also, I want to give Isla a break from me and my anxieties, I dont want her to grow up thinking that some of my wobbles are normal....I missed some of my childhood worrying about my dad, and I dont want that for her!

I feel like weve got a lovely balance at the minute, she has some nursery, some alone with dad, some alone with me, and then weekends were together.

Now ive got used to it, I like it xx
