James knows all about 'the other site' so I never put anything on there about something that happened when we went on holiday in June with my in laws.

Im (secretly) not quite over it, and still feel a little bit twisted, tbh, so I thought I would get it off my chest and see if you ladies think I am over reacting... I will try to keep it short....

We went away for the weekend with my in laws and my SIL and her boyf. I was 14 weeks pregnant at the time and obviously the only sober one there (apart from Aimee, lol).

So, we had a huge nightmare settling Aimee and it took us about 2 hours to get her to go to sleep after a pretty stressful evening. They all decide to get totally drunk (not pretty when they all do).

So, at 11.30pm they wake Aimee up because they are so noisy... I went mental (tiredness from driving and hormones)! They basically denied waking her up and called me a liar.

I said that I wasnt putting up with it all weekend and that I was taking her home (2 hour drive).

So... I started to get her buggy ready and gave her to James to hold while I was sorting it out. My MIL then said...

'Dont give her to her' (ie. dont give me Aimee), at which point I nearly tore her head off.... it gets better....

James did as he was told and I was putting Aimee in her buggy and then my MIL said 'I WONT let you take my grandchild'! Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

By this point James was having to physically hold me back from actually killing my MIL as I was trying to claw her eyes out Shocked Shocked Laughing Laughing

Anyway, I went out for a walk with James, SIL and Aimee and calmed down (slightly) enough to stay. It has never been mentioned since.

I have always got on really well with my MIL, but this incident has really rattled me. Today I found out that she has purchased a coat for Aimee to keep at her house... this wouldnt have annoyed me before, but after the whole holiday issue, I feel a bit miffed.

Phew, rant over... so nice to get it 'out there'! x

So the whole thing was alcohol fuelled I take it Rolling Eyes

I totally understand why you reacted like you did and your MIL went way over the line although I suspect she only reacted that way because she had been drinking, which I can only pity.

If you feel you need to clear the air with your MIL and since you normally get on fine try chatting to her about how you felt that night.

As for the coat as Gemz said more fool her because the coat just won't get worn.

It was alcohol related and I know that she felt bad about it. She did want to apologise, but I said that I didnt want to hear it, as I wasnt sure if she was going to add a 'but' in there which would have sent me off on a rampage again.

I think the time has passed to bring it up now as it has been a while and I think I just need to get past it.

We are having 11 people over for Xmas day (including them) and I am due to give birth on 7th December, and can go as far as the 21st December before they induce me. I have already told my parents that anybody who drinks will not be allowed near the new baby... but I can see it all kicking off on the actual day when I am hormonal and I put my foot down over it.

When they are sober, they are fantastic, but this wasnt the first time I have got into an arguement with them where drink has been involved.
