anyone live in London or know it well?

we plan to spend a weekend in london next year.

our plan is to fly down on the friday morning and back home on the monday evening.

see a show on the friday, go to hogwarts on the saturday (taking my cousins too and they are huge fans) and then the zoo on sunday.

so my question is - what airport is best to fly into?
and can anybody recommend hotels or places to stay? we would have two adults, one twelve year old, an 8 year old and a 3 year old.

also Im guessing all three places we want to go might not be near each other so if we need to travel to some places thats fine but the main reason we are going is to go to hogwarts for the girls birthdays so would be nice if we were quite central to there and a bonus if it was near the other places.

this is the place! sorry if im being thick I have no clue - I just know london is big haha

If you're going to central London then London city airport if you can, heathrow or stanstead are your next nearest but a good 30-40 mins on train.

London rooms are notoriously small and quite pricy, and to be honest location isn't that important as you can get everywhere on the tube really quickly if you stay fairly centrally.

Will have a little look at some hotels for you x

Ok just seen it's in Watford so you want to fly into stanstead. There are loads of hotels in Watford. If you want budget then travelodge, or premier inn, or there's a decent Hilton, but it isn't actually in London it's about 30 mins by train. You can get a train from Watford to euston then the underground for a show. Or your alternative is to stay in central London and travel out for hogwarts

Might be worth going to Luton Airport, as that isnt that far from the Hogwarts place and can easily get to London from there. Luton is a bit of a dump though (i live 20mins from Luton)
