I sent a parcel today of items ordered - value was about £76, as in my sale price was that, of course the materials are much less

So I ask for 1st class recorded, she says is it worth over £46 and I say yeh, so she says oh you will have to send by special delivery at £7 to get insurance up to £100, I say no its ok I will use 1st class at £4 as £46 will cover what its cost me

She then says that i'd it gets lost I will get NOTHING because the item was worth more, so I said well I would only have to get my material cost back, which is what its cost me - so Id ratehr not spend £3 extra every time i send stuff out thanks. THe stupid cow put it on the receipt that the item was of higher velue than £46 - so basically invalidating the receipt meaning I can't claim anything now

WTF - I am so mad! Next time i will say everything is under £46 to stop stupid jobs worths like that interferring!
The stupid thing is that Royal Mail themsleves say they will ONLY pay the cost of buying an item in not the cost selling out at so Ive a good mind to go and bollock her!

I have had that before at my post office when I used to make the wedding invitations. In the end I did the same as you, and where the cost of materials was less than £46, I just said that it was less than that to get it through.
