Moving to bottle & formula _
PostSubject: Moving to bottle & formula   Moving to bottle & formula EmptyFri Nov 18, 2011 11:57 pm

ok as from Dec i want to start introducing Hermione to the bottle and formula.

Now the first bottle i am going to start with is the one before bed, shes still going down between 9:30-10pm i've tried doing it all earlier (i start feeding her at 7:30 once rowan is in bed)

I would like her bed time to be earlier then Rowans and when ever i put her down when she's sleepy or even asleep she goes nuts flapping her arms and screaming

What about a light sheet to lightly swaddle her arms? C had a strong startle reflex til she was 5 or 6 months and I had to do this for the longest time but it really helped her settle

who knows, i recently realised we have completely missed this boat Laughing good luck though Smile does she have a favourite blanky or anything that you can use as a 'sleep cue'?

all i can really say is.......persevere, we didn't at that age and are still paying for it (and probably will be for quite some time Laughing)

You may find with a bottle she'll go down earlier anyway because she won't have to cluster feed and its more filling. Certainly it helps Jamie to sleep. If not have you got a light show or something like that. Jamie has a seahorse that's belly lights up and before that he had a light show that attached to his cot. As you know his sleeping wasn't great but they did help him to stay in his cot happily. He particularly loves his seahorse now

I didn't think of a light show I think she'd love that. I started feeding her at 6:30 had a 30 min break and gave her a bath been feeding her again since 7:50 so just waiting on her to finish

Hope so. It made a big difference with Jamie although he used to stay awake to watch it. However, before that he'd scream when we put him down so it was progress. I hated the cluster feeding. Just did feel like I was permanently attached

I started Arwyn on a bedtime bottle around December/January and started the bedtime routine instead of me feeding her. she got a projector mobile for Christmas (which I still use, just without the mobile part) and I think it really helps make a nice atmosphere in the room. I also got the No Cry Sleep Solution which said to have a toy for sleeping with. I can't remember exactly what it was but I have specific bed time toys that only are in the cot and she settles really well at night.
The last 3 nights she's even slept aaaaaaaaaaall night, bliss!! Smile
