At the moment anything we try to dry in our flat is taking 3 days. It means our washing is out of control. I know in theory you can tumble dry baby clothes but I just wondered if people had done it and how much damage it does to them. I know hubby's t-shirts that can go in tend to lose their shape faster than the ones that don't

Im quite careful what I tumble dry due to shrinkage and costs.
I always tumble dry bedding and towels - towels hung up to dry go hard imo.

Id also occasionally tumble dry Caitlins vests, socks, pj's etc without much thought to make space on radiators if things getting cramped. Same with our underwear, except OHs socks as he claims they shrink.

Also things like jeans, cardi's of mine, OHs jumpers I might finish off in tumbler eg just for 20-30 min. Im still quite chicken tumble drying everything but most things I think would cope fine with a quick 20 min blast. When this baby comes im gonna have to tumble dry more as I cant see how id get the 5 outfits they can get through in a day dry!

I've always tumbled all of Ellie clothes and coats (apart from her fake fur one)! They're fine and come out lovely and soft. I only peg washing out on lovely sunny days.

Apart from a few bits (work pants and skirts) everything in our house is tumbled, I hate washing on radiators etc. Some things are actually nicer tumbled than left to dry naturally.

Give it a go Smile

i only use the drier as a last resort, its expensive and totally wasteful really, but if i have mountains of laundry (umm most of the time haha) and its been p*ssing down for days i take the half dry stuff and put it in the drier...i just don't put wooly things in it

Thanks ladies. Might have to give it a try. I'm thinking if I leave it on the airer until I need to do another load then it will be partly dry so less time for clothes to get ruined and less money

As soon as it gets cold I tumble everything - Izzys clothes never shrink cos I just put it on low, takes longer but safer!

We tumble dry everything now that the weather is colder, if you put things on radiators it creates condensation and that is a massive issue in our house!

With regards to shrinking the clothes, it depends where they've come from - I've found certain shops clothing (namely tescos or asda) shrink a lot more than others.

Ive always tumbled all of amelias clothes, I dont have a washing line as I live in an upstairs flat and I cant leave the washing on radiators etc as it gives Amelia a bad chest because of the damp. Ive never noticed anything wrong with her clothes after.
