Christmas Day Meal _
PostSubject: Christmas Day Meal   Christmas Day Meal EmptyMon Dec 05, 2011 8:24 am

is anyone else going out to a hotel or restaurant for Christmas Day?

My Mum just e-mailed me the menu for the hotel we're going to on Christmas Day and I asked what Arwyn would be getting. She e-mailed me back saying the kids menu is £18.95 so she thought Arwyn could just have bits of ours affraid

£18.95 for a 1 year old?? are they actually taking the piss!!!! [Only admins are allowed to see this image]

We're out this year and we have been every year since having Ellie. We didn't pay anything for her either time as we just gave her dome of ours. Where we're going kids over 2 it's £40 and over10 it's £90 which is the same as adults. Really hope I can get away with paying anything for her as it's expensive enough just for us.

Also, I'm proper mean and always take a drink out for Ellie in my bag so that I don't have to buy her a drink.

we are out too,

last year we didnt pay for alice she ate from ours and E was breast feeding.
this year its 22.50 per kids meal and we have arranged with the restaurant to share 1 between them

it is ridiculous really the price but at least we havent to pay 22.50 each

I'd bring as much as I can with me for her but a bit of soup, turkey and veg isn't going to cost them £18.95. I'm going to get my mum to phone them

Yep definately staying at home, I could not justify spending that amount of money on one meal especially as Libby is a nightmare for eating - it would be a complete waste of money.

We did the hotel thing last year, about £55 each for us and £15 for Imogen who was 11 months. We did ask if we could forgo the food to save on cost but they would have charged a "head cover" or whatever they call it so we had the food!

It was with it though. We took her own juice in her tippy cup and an array of breadsticks, tombliboos, books etc to keep her occupied between courses, she tried a bit of everything and had a lovely time, good as good for nearly 3 hours!

I didn't even know the takeaways were open! If I'd known that I would have ordered one last year as I wasn't allowed to cook and had to talk Adam through every stage (and we only had gammon and jacket potato as one could go under the grill and the other in the microwave)
