My cat is driving us insane!

She is in, out, in, out, in, out and just squeals the street down if we shut the back door and she is outside.

She decides she wants to get up at 4am and cries until we let her out, on the occasions where we ignore her, she then scratches and makes out she is going to wee/poo on the floor in protest.

Even the neighbour said yesterday that when we go to work (im only gone 4 hours in the morning), she sits out the front of our house meowing the entire time. We just cant win!

Im thinking of getting her a Mr Snugs cat shelter for outside, but I have no idea if she will use it. We are both getting really ratty, as im not sleeping as it is (not comfortable pg at night) and we are going to have a newborn again soon.

I dont know what else to do with her - any suggestions would be very much appreciated x

LMFAO, we locked her under the stairs the other week and didnt realise... we had a great nights sleep (and so did she as there was a blanket on the floor). I would feel awful doing it on purpose though... is it a bit cruel? x

Can you not put a cat flap in? That way she can just come in and out as she chooses

Noooooo.... she has a tendancy to catch animals, particularly frogs , and I have had to catch enough of those in the house to last me a lifetime! x

No its not cruel at all ... you dont let your kids wonder round making a noise at night, you put close them in their room..same thing I suppose lol

My cat is the same, when he lived with me (he at the farm now) we used to shut him in the office, he had a bed there and was fine all night, no poo or wee...but if we left him go round the house he'd be moewing in the night to go out ... and then come back in...and then go out ...

its not cruel. lock her up and give her a kick as well

haha no seriously if shes quite settled in there set her up with a litter tray and some water / food and leave her there.

one of our cats has his own wee room in hannahs toy room and if hes being a pain in the ass he gets thrown in there!

Cats are nocturnal aholes..obviously(LOL), but locking them up at night either in a bathroom or somewhere where they have access to a litter box and food/water is not cruel at all. Eventually they will adapt to your schedule..instead of you adapting to theirs. x
