| Right... here's the thing, Aimee's pre school had a chicken pox outbreak a couple of weeks ago, so we expected her to get them around xmas/now. She has had 3 red spots come up on her face and has had them since Saturday (I think) and seem to be going now. She has been poorly since Xmas night and has had a high temperature, not eaten, not really wanted to play, etc. All of the symptoms of the pox, but not hundreds of spots . I googled it and apparently it is possible to have it and only have a couple of spots rather than tons all over your body. Has anybody else had this, or has everybody else had full on spots? x |

| My sisters both only had a few spots. One ended up having it 3 times and the other twice |

| Maybe she does have it then. I have heard that if you only get a few spots that you can get it again.
I will keep an eye on her, and just hope that Lily doesnt get it. The last thing I need in 2 weeks is her having it and the prospect of also having a newborn in the house x |

| Poor Aimee!!
Bethany got chicken pox when she was 12 months old.
There was an outbreak at her nursery and she had a couple of spots on her face and then they went but about 2 weeks later she got a spot on her cheek (face) and one on her tum and then the following day, she came out in more spots and by about day 3, she had quite alot. I think we were pretty lucky as other than the spots you wouldn't have known Bethany had chicken pox as she wasn't poorly.
If Aimee has got chicken pox, you can give her liquid piriton and also calomine location will help soothe the spots.
Chicken pox is doing the rounds at Bethany's nursery at the moment and they've also had a few cases of hand, foot and mouth which I believe is quite similar.

| Owen only had 9 spots the doc told me he will get it again as soo mild. Also you should let your midwife know you have it in house as they like to monitor baby more. My best friend had it when I was nearly ready to pop with Owen and I had to see her about it |

| Seb didn't have all that many spots and they came up quite gradually, for the first couple of days you wouldn't have noticed if you'd met him in the street but by day 5 you couldn't miss it. On the first morning he had just one of the typical blisters but it was behind his ear and if he hadn't just had a haircut we probably wouldn't have seen it (we were looking for it due to nursery outbreak, otherwise we wouldn't have noticed). He had a few other red spots but they took a while to become blisters. On both kids the spots were worst in hotspots e.g. scalp, under nappy, inside armpits. Seb wasn't ill at all, Anna was ill a couple of days into it for about 24 hours.
When Seb's nursery had an outbreak it took him about 6 or 8 weeks to get it - they had waves of cases approx every 2 weeks. I was surprised it took that long, given he does 3 days a week. So I wouldn't assume you've got it in the first wave.
Hope she is ok and it doesn't spread round the family, Ros |
