| I would have said buy quite a few newborn after my experience with Caitlin, she was 8lb 1oz but then dropped to 7lb 3oz and like Katie said was in newborn for 6 weeks. I never understood why ppl said they out of newborn in no time, Caitlin even wore tiny baby for a cpl weeks and I didnt think she was particularly small. After Joshua though Id advise not buying too much until you see what size baby is and how quickly they gain weight/what others buy you. Joshua can still fit in a few newborn things eg t-shirts and trousers but some of the newborn vests and babygrows (feet!) he grew out of in about a fortnight. We have a few babygrows from asda he got as gifts and only wore once. I got too many newborn things as gifts and in the end stopped taking labels off things as I dont think he will get the wear out of them all. Im saving them to give to friend or SIL as I cant be arsed tramping around shops changing things. A coat I suppose is dif, they always seem huge on them so I suppose newborn would be ok. What a confusing answer lol! Basically I wouldnt go too mad, but maybe t-shirts and trouser would be ok, just be careful about vests and babygro's |

| I actually would buy 0-3 months. My niece and nephew didn't fit in newborn at all. After expecting him to not fit in them they were actually too big on Jamie but he grew out of them in 3 weeks. At least he'll grow into it. People will buy you things as well and they'll probably buy newborn.. Jamie was just in big clothes in hospital and then people bought us smaller clothes |

| I only ever had my two in baby grows at that age anyway so I would say none! lol! and my kids weren't in newborn for more than a couple of weeks because although they weren't big born, they never lost any birth weight and piled it on in the first couple of weeks. Everybody is different so I woudn't go mad, get a couple of outfits and a load of grows and if you need you can go buy a few more (or order online) when you know how big baby is. You might also get bought a load of first size stuff as gifts too.
I would probably buy one first size coat and the rest in 0-3.

| I got loads of newborn outfits for Aimee as she was a slow grower so she was in them for ages.
With Lily, I still had a couple of Aimee's but pretty much kept her in sleep suits the whole time x |

| i would buy quite a few as newborn goes up to about 10-12lbs, depending where you buy from i was looking at newborn clothes yesterday and i was shocked that 'tiny baby' is up to 7.5lbs now...i thought that should be a 'newborn' size :S |

| haha hmm isn't it variable!
eli was 7lb 5 but went down to 6lb 10 then took a month to make it back up (poor sleepy yellow baby!) so was in new baby for aaaaaaages, we had mostly bought 0-3 so had to buy clothes straight away tsk! but the 0-3 was absolutely huge on him.
maybe go to next where their sizes are big and get a newborn snowsuit rather than a jacket and that should do up to maybe 1 or 2 months if baby is average size - we never bothered with coats or things much til elijah could walk as they looked so uncomfy |
