| If you could choose what you would do for your 30th what would you do?
For my21st my parents took me and tommys dad to new York for 4 nights it was amazing! My sister didn't manage to get the same because my parent split up but mums just said she's saving for us to go there for her 30th which will be 2014.
But it's my 30th next year and mum wants to do something, the first place that sprung to mind was Barcelona but I'm after a bit of inspiration! I'm not after a big piss up because chance are my 13 year old sister will want to come, any ideas? |

| Kell, just because you go to Barcelona doesn't mean it has to be a piss up lol! I suppose 13 year olds would love NY but it's your birthday so do what you want Suggestions: Paris, see the sights, eat, drink see a show Paris - euro Disney?? in my opinion. Disney world is for adults Dublin - great for a piss up Benidorm - good for a gang of girls. What month is your birthday? |

| My birthdays on September so quite a nice hot time of year! I'm hoping to take the boys to euro Disney this year but I do love a bit of Disney!!
Oh I wasn't saying Barcelona was a piss up I was just after other ideas! It was the first thing that popped into my head!
We've been to Benidorm a few years back, but could be worth a look!
I think Dublin may be a 40th or in between don't wanna take mol there and loose her coz we get drunk lol |

| I went to Blackpool and met Debs for the first time on my 30th! I think Barcelona sounds brilliant. You are so lucky that your mum wants to do something like that xx |

| I love Barcelona but would also really recommend Valencia (like Barcelona but less tourists!) Rome would also be ace if you like sightseeing. |

| I snook off to Amsterdam for a long weekend with OH for my 30th and it was lovely. Also in September so it was a little bit chilly but we did quite a lot of walking to keep us warm. We took in a few sights such as the sex museum (hilarious, but maybe a bit embarassing with your parents and sister lol) and we walked around the red light district for an "education" as well. Took a canal trip, went to Ann Frank's house (found a 50 Euro note outside - thanks Ann!) did some shopping, sampled the local produce (again probably not something to do with a 13yr old and parents but not compulsory). It's a beautiful city, I would definitely go again (even though I don't smoke now and wouldn't, and I don't drink half as much either).
I've been to Barcelona too - that was really really good. Lots to see, beautiful buildings, the main shopping street (Las Ramblas) is amazing with stalls and street performers all the way down to the harbour, and the park Guell is wonderful if a little out of the way, there's a massive Picasso street art near the cathedral - looks like a drunkard's doodle if you ask me but the Spanish seem to think it's quite special lol.
Sorry, not showing off, but I've done Paris too. Again soooo much to see, a week wasn't enough and we spent an absolute fortune despite staying in quite a modestly priced hotel which was within walking distance of the tower but the other way from the main busyness. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can do more than one museum in a day, by the time you've navigated the Metro and queued to get in, you can only do one if you want to really appreciate it. We rushed the louvre, such a shame, would definitely go back but not with young kids, prob not with kids at all tbh. But then could I justify spending that money on somthing not for my kids now? Well, that's the question!
I have this thing about going to capital cities on the country's national day, but I don't have many in the bag so far. It helps when deciding where to go though! |

| Kell, mine was two weeks ago - any ideas of barcelona or elsewhere neither feasible or possible! I had a hubby-made cake and lots of help unwrapping presents from the tiddlers So I'd say, what ever you can do, crack on. If you like water sports, hiking, drinking, sightseeing, city tours, wine tasting, spas - any thing - what ever floats your boat then go for that. See where does that kind of thing and bob's your uncle. You will always find other stuff to do nearby that can suit others who come with you. Also, I am seeing this side of 30 a lot more calmly than the build up ("noooo, not 30, not me - nahhh - it's ages away yet......" now is "oh, that was painless!"). It was surprisingly like the other birthdays I've had - I awoke a year older. It just happened to be a nice round number xx |
