Hey girlies!

I'm getting Amelia a bike for her 3rd birthday.

I had all the intentions of getting her a 12" one however I took her to toysRus for a test and she picked up a 14" one and rode it. It is too tall for her as in she can't reach the floor but she can pedal it. I checked online and 12" is recommeded from 2yrs and the 14" from 4yrs. Amelia is tall but not the size of a 4 yr old lol.

If I got her the 12" one do you think it would still last her? How do the other LO's who have a bike get on with them and what size are they?

Izzy got the 12" Raleigh and I put the seat right down at first, but she ended up sat in the dolly basket cos it was too low Laughing

So now its about 3/4 up

I think saying it will last til she is 4 sounds about right, and then move to 14", I was more than happy to buy another in a year seeing as they grow so fast

I think if I was you I'd be tempted to get the 14" now though as Amelia is quite a bit taller than Izzy, its not so important if they cant touch the floor as they can sit still with the stabilizers on anyway

I'd get the 14" as Lisa said if she's quite tall go by what works rather than by age Smile

We got Immy a 12" one off Ebay back in September (she was 4 in the November). She is now outgrowing it (she is a tall girly). However, when we had tried her out on a variety of bikes she found the 14" a bit awkward, so we thought as a starter she would feel more comfortable with the smaller one. We weren't too bothered as it was 2nd hand and also it will get passed onto Isla.

Umm, so yes that wasn't very helpful! Could you get her a second hand 12" to get her started off, and then spend more on a 14" in 6/12 months time? Immy's bike was in really good condition, pink with tassles, etc and she loves it. They don't know it's not brand new! x
